LOL.. sitrep here. www.americasarmy.comI don't know if I should post this or not... but hey, if you do'nt have time to go to AA.com, then you cna read it here. VOICE ACTIVATION CONTROL VAC enables players to use the America's Army voice recognitions system to issue commo commands and initiate actions. Now players have the ability to speak the radio command they want rather than cycling through menus. You can also map any key to a voice command to customize your AA experience. FIELD DRESSING All medic qualified players will now have the ability to treat themselves when injured in combat. They will be equipped with a single field dressing which will treat their injuries until a medic can render them aid. SCOREBOARD We’ve redesigned and improved the in-game scoreboard functionality. 'Explore Map' MODE Users can launch any map easily in offline mode to explore the mission. You no longer have to remember the command line console syntax to launch your favorite missions in single player mode. HMMWV TUNING AND FIXES The CROWS and HMMWV have been fine tuned to perform better. The weapons on the Hummer have been tweaked to be more accurate and fun. CIVILIAN AI ENHANCED The civilian AI NPCs have been much improved and enemy AI has been enhanced to make them more challenging and “smarter”. LOGITECH G15 KEYBOARD SUPPORT We’ve added native Logitech G15 gaming keyboard support. If you are using a G15, the LCD will load once the game is launched. (Logitech G15 hardware required.) TRACKIR HEADSET SUPPORT Support for the TrackIR Virtual Reality Headset has been improved. Players with this hardware can now use the system in the HMMWV for enhanced gameplay. (TrackIR hardware required.) MBS IMPROVEMENTS The in-game Master Browser has been improved and enhanced. One noticeable change is how Maps are filtered. User created maps from Mission Depot (http://www.aamissiondepot.com/) are now filtered separately making it easier to navigate through available missions. BUG FIXES As always we have addressed a great number of bugs in this release, including fixes to the Mission Editor. A complete list of bug fixes will appear in the V2.8.2 readme.

I like that they are not totally trashing 2.8 since 3.0 is on the horizon. But the "bug fixes" are pretty vague and that is what I am most concerned with. I think all of the enhancements are fine but I want Snakeplain to stop crashing so we can put the server back on 7 rounds, lol. Yesterday, played on another server and the first 7 rounds went fine. But low and behold, into the second match and at the beginning of the 7th round of all things, CRASH! I lost 732 points and all that time spent getting to that point that I will never get back, lol. That's one thing you can say about our server. We have adjusted for the bug by limiting to 3 rounds. That way, you don't loose, or loose as many I should say, points. We still get server crashes but not as frequent and we gain more than we loose. But that is a bandaid at best. People like 7 rounds. They don't like having to re-up for their slot every 3 rounds. I think the biggest fix they could do, is come up with a Linux server side software version. This is the only game I have come across that doesn't have a Linux server side software version. Linux servers are more stable and crash less. Now they have Linux client software, why not the server side software? And our server company has dedicated Linux servers but you have to have Linux server side software to run on it. Bro Jeff a.k.a. [shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300] †_FC_†™[/glow][/shadow]

Actually I believe for awhile most AA servers used to run Linux but more and more have been converted to Windows recently for some reason. I think they still release the Linux version of the servers files. People just don't use them much.

I like the stuff in the sitrep alot. First, I love the idea that you can control your bleeding somewhat with a field-dressing. All soldiers have this in real life, and now we finally get it. Just very cool and useful. I wonder if you get points for it though. I hope that with the scoreboard thing they fixed that thing wehre it delets your chat when the F2 board pops up. That would save me a lot of "grrrr's". lol I hope they fixed how the crows jerks around a ton. Also sometimes the laser doens't even work. So, if they fixed those thats awsome! AI for civilians looks really cool. I can't wait till the warning in the mission-brief that says "civilian personel may be in the area" isn't just a bluff. Improved AI for op4... ugh... they're hard enough already! rofl. But, will be more fun Maybe they fixed the jump-bug this patch... and who knows, maybe even the quick-swap! But... I kindof doubt it...

If there's no announcement for it, then it isn't out yet Very nice. Finally, a streamlined way to access your commo menus. The field dressing thing is also a welcome addition. There are few things worse than being your team's only medic and then getting critically wounded and not able to save yourself before you bleed out.

When is it coming out? does anyone know? -Hawk- only the Dev's know that.... I would say that there will either be another sitrep this week, or it might come out this week. But... I really don't know anything... just a guess after 2 years playing this game.

The day of reckoning! (for our work output and school grades maybe... ) is coming! Take cover and prepare to have fun! lol. nooo... the patch is not out yet. But all of the beta-servers except for 2 are on 2.8.2.0, and thus the patch is technically "complete". Now we just have to wait until they release it. hehe.

@ Soccer thats a user created map if i'm not mistaken. @ Strategy well after you deleted your thread on tracker someone else did a thread with a cruel joke in it The rumor mill is saying sept 1 for relase date but that would be silly to release it on a weekend as server providers will be slow in making the download available but i guess we'll see if it comesout saturday or sometime next week

How are you getting into those pages? The links require authorization of some sort and I have no clue what to punch in; my AA login didn't seem to work...
