OK, the moment that some of you have been waiting for all weekend is finally here -- go and check out the "new and improved" -=Of-God=- Clan Member List page! (You'll find the new viewer below the New Members and Recent Ex-members boards, where the old lengthy list used to be.)
Okay, so what new features have been added? Well, for one thing, the entire list takes up only one screen -- yet crams much more information about each member into the page! Those clan members who have followed the instructions in the previous ANNOUCEMENT topic have even more data listed beyond the standard listing; for those clan members who haven't provided that data yet, the topic has been removed from "announcement" status, but is still "pinned" at the top of the Clan Only \ Open Forum board.
Using the new "Clan Membership Dossier Viewer" is very simple and intuitive, yet its search capabilities are very powerful. In its simplest use, just select the clan member from the alphabetical listing in the main list (the first scroll-box), and the information about that clan member will appear in the "file card" below the search boxes.
For "more power", you can use one of the three built-in search tools:
1) Search by Clan Position -- filter the main list to display only members in a specified clan status;
2) Search by Name -- filter the main list to display only members whose screennames start with the letters that you type; and
3) Search by Favorite Map -- filter the main list to display only members who have chosen the selected map as one of their three favorites (great for finding a "buddy" to leave the safe confines of McKenna with for a while!).
In each of these searches, the main list will show only those members who match the selected criteria; if only one match is found (for example, by clicking on the "Clan Leader" position, or typing "Peace" in the name-search), then there is no need to select that member from the list, because the data for that member will automatically be displayed.
Enough about the navigation -- now on to the meat of what is included in the new "Clan Membership Dossier Viewer"!
1. The "tab" of the "file card" will show the selected member's screenname (in a color matching their forum status here). In most cases, this name is a clickable link that will launch a new PM to that member. (Some members listed do not have forum accounts due to their age or to their reserve/retired status; these have no link on the name tab.)
2. The top section of the card includes: a logo indicating the member's clan position; the member's first name; the date of joining the clan (or approximate date, for some of the longer-term members -- like, everyone from me back to the founding of the clan ); a flag (as before) indicating the member's current country of residence; and the member's AAOTracker ID # (with a link to the tracker, naturally ). NOTE: in some clan members' dossiers, the flag will be a clickable link as well; it will lead to Innovator's "Clan Map" project, which is available to clan members only (a username and password is required to access that map).
3. The lower left section displays the data that the clan members submitted regarding their two favorite weapons and their three favorite maps; the lower right section shows all of the training qualifications that the member has passed. (Those members who have not submitted information yet are listed as "M16, MOUT McKenna, Basic Training" only.) Should a clan member wish to change their listed items (new favorite maps or weapon, or new training completed), they should let me know via PM.
Well, that's about it. If you have any questions about how it works, or problems with it not working correctly, this would be a good place to let me know about it. Or, you can communicate this info to me via PM, if you prefer.
Enjoy!! ;D
