Hi all
I have been wanting to write a guide to SF Snake Plain and have finally founf the time to do it. As with any guide, this is one persons interpolation on how to conduct this take down. Im sure there are many others, but they are all wrong and I am right. Just kidding…lol. Any teamwork based tactic you use on this map should work just fine. So, let’s get into it.
Start: Try to set you Hummers up like this
Hummer #1 = One Javelin, One Sniper, Two Assaulters and .50Cal (useless)
Hummer #2 = One Javelin, One Sniper, Two Assaulters and MK19 (Lethal)

)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Fist thing you have to do is take out as much armor as you can.
Take H-1 (hummer #1) to right hill, position – 1 (H1-P1) (as shown in screen shot) unload Jav on the BMP-1 approaching from the left (target reference point -1 (TRP-1)). The BMP is not always there. If he isn’t, let you team proceed and Jav stays as this is a great place to engage any more armor that does arrive. If you do fire your Jav then all 4 Soldiers should pile back in H-1 and proceed to position #2 (H1-P2)
Take H-2 (hummer #2) to the left hill position – 1 (H2-P1) (as shown in SS) and engage the T-62 which is always in front of the Fort (target reference point -2 (TRP-2)). The T-62 will always be here so after the Jav shot all 4 Soldier should proceed to H2-P2. You can leave you sniper here if you like but there are not a lot of kills to be had. On the other hand, he is not much help with that weapon inside the Fort.
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Step 2 = Breach Fort
H-1 drops his sniper at H1-P2 and immediately continues to breach point -1 (BP-1). Here’s why. This is one of the best sniper positions on the map. It was shown to me by Flight-=Of-God=-. It can see every roof top in the Fort and portions of the courtyards. In addition, should the BTR-80 not be taken out, this sniper position can take out the QRF which unload from them latter in the round and provide your team an escape route to assault OBJ D. By the time H-1 arrives at BP-1, the door should have been blown by H-2 assaulters and you can mover right in.
H-2 arrives at H2-P2. Two assaulter dismount and break the door securing the entry point. One assaulter stays in H-2 and prepares to engage the approaching BMP’s at TRP-3 and TRP-4 with the MK-19. Laser designates your distance before firing and it should kill it with one round. Conserver ammo.
-))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Objective – At this point you should have accomplished 3 major tasks. Eliminate the armor, secure the perimeter, and gain access and secure entry to the complex. Once that is acciecved the rest of the round is eliminating remaining threat and capturing Objective. Im not going to give you a blow by blow of how to reach each Obj but I will show where they are and what some of the more difficult ones look like.
Secure Intel – Obj A. It must be done first in order for Obj C and Obj D to show on you map. (Note – should you stumble upon Obj C or D, you can take them out.) Alpha is located in one of 2 place. On the 2nd floor of the main building or in the tunnel below building near BP-1. you can tell which place it is in as soon as you enter BP-1 by looking at you mini-map. If Obj A has a point on the top, then it is above you, which means the 2nd floor of the main building. Conversely, if it has a point on the bottom then it is in the tunnels. The tunnel entrance is in the building near BP-1.
Once you have Obj A, you can see Obj C and D on the mini-map. If you have most of your team alive, 2 soldiers should depart in a hummer and head for Obj D. It will be far away and it takes time to reach. One of the snipers may be close and can run for it. Obj D is easy to find and has little resistance so I won’t discuss it beyond the fact that it has 3 spawn points. Obj C however has 4 spawn point and can be difficult to achieve. They are marked on the map below as C high = top of tower, C Low = under same tower, C Tent = in tent (lol), and C West = bottom of west tower.
If you successfully complete the tasks above then you should have every round licked.
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
There are 2 more thing to note on this map. First, the MK-19 and a great tactical use for it. After it has destroyed the 2 BMP’s have it drive around the Fort and blast very tower. Then go to the west gate and blow it with a breacher. Some say that if you lay it right it will blow both doors at once. If it doesn’t, just walk in after the first door, do an “about face’ and open the second door like you would any other. Roll H-2 inside and blast everything insight, particularly the windows to your left (hope you don’t mind a little ROE). You will get huge kill numbers and help clear out Obj A if it is high.
Another cool trick is to breach one of the walls with an RPG. Search the exterior walls and look for one with a smooth texture. You team will be amazed. (at least for the next 2 months till everyone know you can do it….lol.
Lastly, the POW. I haven’t quite figured him out but I do have some observations. First, he seems to spawn near Obj D a lot but he doesn’t have a thermite to get it with. Second, if you are luck enough that he spawnd inside the Fort, then Obj A will usually be in the Tunnels and he is 20 ft from it and unopposed. Have him get Obj A and proceed throught the tunnels where there is a table full of ammo for him. M4M, 3 mags, 3 nades, and 3 thermites. If you happen across this table and you are not the POW, leave the ammo for him. You spawn with this ammo anyway and he might be running to the fort to get it. The ammo is always on the table regardless of where the POW spawns.
Well, hope this helps you out or atlest gives you and overview if you haven’t played the map before.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD FRAGING !!
