Note: "Simple Man" was actually produced and written by Lynyrd Skynyrd; that is only a cover version. Cut myself open wide Reach inside Help yourself To all I have to give And then you help yourself again And then complain that You didn't like the way I put the knife in wrong You didn't like the way My blood spilled on your brand new floor
What would you say If I walked away Would you appreciate But then it'd be too late Because I can only take so much of your ungrateful ways Everything is never enough
Sacrifice my life Neglect my kids and wife All for you to be happy All those sleepless nights And countless fights to give you more And then you say how dare that I didn't write you back I must be too good for you I only care about myself
What would you say If I walked away Would you appreciate But then it'd be too late Because I can only take so much of your ungrateful ways Everything is never enough

Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea. A great high Priest whose Name is Love Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart. I know that while in Heaven He stands No tongue can bid me to depart.
When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within, Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free. For God the just is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me.
One in Himself I cannot die. My soul is purchased by His blood, My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ my Savior and my God!
Behold Him there the risen Lamb, My perfect spotless righteousness, The great unchangeable I AM, The King of glory and of grace
Charitie Bancroft. Sonic Flood does a great version of this song.

this is a funny song by Johnny Cash. hehe. The One On The Right Is On The LeftThere once was a musical troupe A pickin' singin' folk group They sang the mountain ballads And the folk songs of our land They were long on musical ability Folks thought they would go far But political incompatibility led to their downfall Well, the one on the right was on the left And the one in the middle was on the right And the one on the left was in the middle And the guy in the rear was a Methodist This musical aggregation toured the entire nation Singing the traditional ballads And the folk songs of our land They performed with great virtuosity And soon they were the rage But political animosity prevailed upon the stage Well, the one on the right was on the left And the one in the middle was on the right And the one on the left was in the middle And the guy in the rear burned his driver's license Well the curtain had ascended A hush fell on the crowd As thousands there were gathered to hear The folk songs of our land But they took their politics seriously And that night at the concert hall As the audience watched deliriously They had a free-for-all Well, the one on the right was on the bottom And the one in the middle was on the top And the one on the left got a broken arm And the guy in the rear, said, "Oh dear" Now this should be a lesson if you plan to start a folk group Don't go mixin' politics with the folk songs of our land Just work on harmony and diction Play your banjo well And if you have political convictions keep them to yourself Now, the one on the left works in a bank And the one in the middle drives a truck The one on the right's an all-night deejay And the guy in the rear got drafted

It was an April morning When they told us we should go As I turned to you You smiled at me How could we say no?
With all the fun to have To live the dreams we always had Whoa the songs to sing When we at last return again
Sending off a glancing kiss To those who claim they know To know the streets the seaman hears The devil is in his hole
Oh, to sail away To sandy lands and other days Oh, to touch the dream Hides inside and never seen, yeah!
Into the sun, the south, the north Lies the first of hope The shackles of commitment fell In pieces on the ground
Oh, to ride the wind To tread the air above the din Oh, to laugh out loud Dancing as we fought the crowd
To seek the man whose pointing hand The giant step unfolds With guidance from the curving path That churns up into stone
If one bell should ring In celebration for a king So fast the heart should beat As proud the head with heavy feet, yeah!
Days went by when you and I Made an eternal summers glow As far away and distant Our mutual time to grow Oh, the sweet refrain Soothes the soul and calms the pain Oh, Albion remains, sleeping now to rise again
Wondering and wondering What place to rest the search The mighty arms of Atlas Hold the Heavens from the Earth
The mighty arms of Atlas Hold the Heavens from the Earth
From the Earth...
I know the way, know the way, know the way, know the way I know the way, know the way, know the way, know the way
Well, the mighty arms of Atlas Hold the Heavens from the Earth Led Zeppelin's "Achilles Last Stand"

My kind of thread! :] "The Road To Jericho Is Lined With Starving People" By a little band called "This Providence" There's a man on the side of the road. Left for dead. People passing by turn their head. There's a man on the side of the road to Jericho. Needs a friend. Oh we all could use a little more loving. Couldn't we? So c'mon love. Give your love away with me. Hold nothing back. Like you've nothing to lose. Love with all you have. Like you don't have a clue what it's costing you. There's a man on his way to a church. Avoids the eyes of a dying soul. He just turns his head. There's a child on the side of the road to Jericho. Needs a friend. Oh we all could do a little more loving. Wouldn't you agree? So c'mon love. Give your love away with me. Hold nothing back. Like you've nothing to lose Love with all you have. Like you don't have a clue what it's costing you. If loving were easy it wouldn't be love.Oh will you give your love away? If loving were easy it wouldn't be love. I'm gonna give away love. Will you give your love away? Good song, good band I like the meaning of the lyrics - This Providence - Check em' out

this is one of my favorite song
Wait by Everyday Sunday
You’re rushing, doing everything anything on the verge. Not even thinking about what if you’re doing is absurd. I don’t mean to be the one to cut in, but you might want to stop and think about what you’re doing. Here we go, everybody in the house one time, everybody get up with their rhyme and the times and the lines, and everybody says it, everybody goes and everybody plays it…what, and everybody says you’re front, and everybody says you go with your flow, and everybody knows, everybody sings, and everybody brings…Have fun go ahead, do anything instead. You can do what you want if it looks fun. But God is in control of the route and that is what it’s all about. Movin' in a van, so what we are a band, now you gotta get up, get the lights shining and jumping on your feet, we’ll hit you with a beat, let’s move for He has given us everything. There isn’t a time, a place you can be, not a place in your face that you cannot see, back up your face are you talking, yea, I said it’s grace, He will be with me every place. And why now, everybody says it, why now, and everybody says you go with your flow and everybody knows, and everybody sings and everybody brings it. You go and everybody says it, you go and everybody throws it, you go and everybody fakes it one time, and everybody shows it, one time and everybody throws it, one time and everybody goes it, one time and everybody blows it. Here we go, come on. Come on man tell me what you were thinking, doing everything with a selfish reason. I didn’t meant to be the one to cut in, but you gotta stop and think about what you’re doing. You sang your song way out of tune, so step off now and let it loose, I’m not gonna do it your way! I’m doing it for God, so I’m here today. Everybody goes and everybody knows, everybody sings and everybody brings. Bring it on, bring it on this time, everybody sets it up with their rhyme, But now, everybody says somehow, and everybody says you go with your flow and everybody knows and everybody sings, and everybody brings it.
taken from the band's website. its to hard of a song to put it in to verses.

Casting Crowns - Stained Glass Masquerade Lyrics
Is there anyone that fails Is there anyone that falls Am I the only one in church today feelin' so small
Cause when I take a look around Everybody seems so strong I know they'll soon discover That I don't belong
So I tuck it all away, like everything's okay If I make them all believe it, maybe I'll believe it too So with a painted grin, I play the heart again So everyone will see me the way that I see them
Are we happy plastic people Under shiny plastic steeples With walls around our weakness And smiles to hide our pain But if the invitation's open To every heart that has been broken Maybe then we close the curtain On our stained glass masquerade
Is there anyone who's been there Are there any hands to raise Am I the only one who's traded In the altar for a stage
The performance is convincing And we know every line by heart Only when no one is watching Can we really fall apart
But would it set me free If I dared to let you see The truth behind the person That you imagine me to be
Would your arms be open Or would you walk away Would the love of Jesus Be enough to make you stay

Great song, Doc -- that's one of my favorite CC songs (I've seen them in concert twice, and enjoyed it immensely). On my Yamaha a couple of days ago, I played a set with Steven Curtis Chapman's "For Who He Really Is" and Casting Crowns' "If We Are the Body" and "Stained Glass Masquerade" -- powerful stuff . "If We Are the Body" is still pretty popular now, and most people know of it ... so I'll just share the words of "For Who He Really Is":

My All-time Fav for Christian songs so far, is "Voice of Truth" by CC, and I too have seen them in concert, went for my Birthday last year.. it was awesome. This song ministers to me more each time i Hear it, It has strengthened me more than I can say, as the Lord Speaks through it to my heart. God bless it, and I hope someone can get the same thing i can out of it. "Voice of Truth" By Casting Crowns Oh what I would do to have The kind of faith it takes To climb out of this boat I'm in onto the crashing waves To step out of my comfort zone Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is And He's holding out His hand But the waves are calling out my name And they laugh at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The waves they keep on telling me Time and time again, "Boy, you'll never win!" "You'll never win!" Chorus: But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!" And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth Oh what I would do to have The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant With just a sling and a stone Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors Shaking in their armor Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand But the giant's calling out my name And he laughs at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The giant keeps on telling me Time and time again, "Boy you'll never win!" "You'll never win!" Chorus: But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!" And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth But the stone was just the right size To put the giant on the ground And the waves they don't seem so high On top of them lookin' down I soar with the wings of EAGLES When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus Singing over me Chorus: But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!" And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me) I will choose to listen and believe- I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth I will listen and believe I will listen and believe the Voice of truth I will listen and believe Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth And I will listen to you, you are-

Artist: Staind Song: So Far Away Lyrics
This is my life Its not what it was before All these feelings I’ve shared And these are my dreams That I’d never lived before Somebody shake me Cause I, I must be sleeping
(chorus) Now that we're here, It's so far away All the struggle we thought was in vain All the mistakes, One life contained They all finally start to go away Now that we're here its so far away And I feel like I can face the day I can forgive and I’m not ashamed to be the person that I am today
These are my words That I’ve never said before I think I’m doing ok And this is the smile That I’ve never shown before
Somebody shake me Cause I, I must be sleeping
(chorus)
I'm so afraid of waking Please don't shake me Afraid of waking Please don't shake me
(chorus)
Nice relaxing song

Every time I hear this song, I almost stop whatever I'm doing and sing at the top of my lungs, (except when Driving) "You Reign" by 4Him Long before you ever said Let there be light To long after this world has had Its final night Great god in heaven youll be Where Youve always been Seated on your holy throne King of all kings Looking down on men
Chorus: You are ruler above all the nations Sovereign through all generations Lord you reign One day All kings will tremble before you I will bow down to adore you Lord you reign
Morning and night the sky shouts Your majesty Saying the whole universe Is under your feet This is the peace in my heart The strength of my soul Whatever happens in life This much I know You are in control
Chorus

this is a new band who's CD hasn't even come out yet
"Undo" by Rush Of Fools (www.myspace.com/rushoffools)
I’ve been here before Now, here I am again Standing at the door Praying You’ll let me back in
To label me A prodigal would be Only scratching the surface Of who I’ve been known to be
Turn me around, pick me up Undo what I’ve become Bring me back to the place Of forgiveness and grace I need You, I need Your help I can’t do this myself You’re the only one Who can undo what I’ve become
I focused on the score But I could never win Trying to ignore A life of hiding my sin
To label me A hypocrite would be Only scratching the surface Of who I’ve been known to be
Turn me around, pick me up Undo what I’ve become Bring me back to the place Of forgiveness and grace I need You, I need Your help I can’t do this myself You’re the only one Who can undo what I’ve become
Make every step lead me back to The sovereign way that You
Turn me around, pick me up Undo what I’ve become Bring me back to the place Of forgiveness and grace I need You, I need Your help I can’t do this myself You’re the only one who can undo You are the only one who can undo You’re the only one who can undo What I’ve become
