1. Leave it on deposit and live on the interest. 2. Roll the interest back into the CD for greater gain, and roll it over into a new CD when its term expires. 3. Make an early withdrawal and pay the hefty penalty associated therewith. Or did you mean a compact disc rather than a certificate of deposit? Sorry, I spent almost 8 years in the banking industry -- had to answer with what I knew .
By the way, in response to Sarah's question above on 1/21/08 -- I already know what I'd do with a large LEGO collection, because I have one and have done it. Castle Peace is now home to my family's LEGO collection, a.k.a. the "National Treasure" LEGO Collection (so nicknamed because it keeps growing every time it changes hands). It started nearly 29 years ago with my first LEGO set, and has grown by leaps and bounds with each new kid and grandkid in my parents' family that was entrusted with the responsibility of holding the collection -- and now the Peacelings have it here (those of you coming to the Clan Reunion on the Fourth of July here can check it out ). So here's what I would do / have done: 1. Sort out all those little buggers by shape and function (took about five hours ). 2. Build a space mission command center (my brother and I were big-time into the space LEGO's -- my command center rocks!). 3. Teach the Peacelings how to build excellent LEGO spaceships (a work in progress -- Peaceling#1 is getting pretty good at it, as is Peaceling#2, but Peaceling#3 just wants to build herself some little houses and stuff ... gotta work on that ).
Okay, enough blubbering when I'm supposed to be ZZZ'ing! NEXT POSTER: list three things that you can do with a multivitamin tablet!
