no clue learner... but I would recommend posting your problem in the "tech support" board were you'll get better attention(plus your post won't get lost in any other 2.8.3 chatter).

So when is OG server #1` going 2.8.3? or is it already? Apparently you missed Reply #19 at the bottom of page 1 of this thread -- #1 House-=Of-God=- has been running 2.8.3 since around 0130 today. FYI, our server is running 2.8.3 now -- and sadly enough, we've already had our first rule-1-violation kick in 2.8.3 .

How do I expand the amount of text I can write in a message? It used to be fpConsoleWidthPercent=0.750000 but I don't see that command in the new user.ini file...

If you don't see that in the User.ini, just add that line into the "[AGP.AGP_HUD]" section of the User.ini -- that should fix it (I use .90, personally):[AGP.AGP_HUD] fpConsoleWidthPercent=0.900000

It's amazing that when I asked the question I knew Peace would answer even though he's on dial-up. Amazing... Jeff - any word on the job hunt (off topic of course! ) sam

And of course as soon as I look to put in the command Jeff gave me I found that the command has been there all along. I think someone needs to take some "using the find command" lessons...

For those of you that downloaded the full version, you may have noticed that many of the maps were not added so as to cut down on the download size. You also know that downloading the maps from the DCDS is not the most efficient way to do this. Here's a solution. Go to this page: aamaps.logvelox.com/index.php?option=com_docman&Itemid=8scroll down to "newest downloads" and download DCDS Map Pack 2.8.3 SF (Mediafire Mirror) and DCDS Map Pack 2.8.3 REG (Mediafire Mirror) This will download a .exe file which will extract the SF/Regular maps to your AA system/maps folder.

FYI: I asked Andrew to send me a list of the byte-counts on all of the files in that download, just to make sure that the map files were all valid and wouldn't cause any problems for the users. The byte-counts do match the files that were left in my system when I upgraded with the patch, so everything should be fine if you use this to supplement your "semi-full install" of AA. Thanks for the assistance, Andrew!

I'm going to go through and delete all of my other AA installers and keep a full v2.8.3 installer on hand. The other patches are now just eating up space on my HDD; it's about time I went through and cleaned up all those derelict files
