Hello all, First, I want say that I have heard of bunny-Hopping before, I have heard members and non-members complain about bunny hopping, and that only last night, last night I became aware that there was a true HS glitch(Salvation explained to the server the glitch). I've been the victim of BUNNY HS many times in the past, and that explains a lot btw, I thought those players were using aimbots. I've seen players lead a jumping charge actually. I am also not sure that I haven't used the BH-HS glitch myself. I thought the glitch was that it was harder to shoot a jumping oponent . Sometimes when I am fired upon from the back, I jump 180 degrees to that direction and start shooting. IF, and IF only, I get a HS, is that considered a glitch? Does the glitch works when you rotate in the air? Also, If I start hopping when I climb upper c because there was an opfor camping by the crates, how long should I wait to start shooting so that the glitch is not activated? And now that I think about it, does the glitch works from all distances? I've been HS from upper gray to upper blue(and vice-versa, fairly far distance) at the end of a "Hop". Thank you, everyone for your time, those are true questions, I wan't to know them so I may properly enforce (and not violate) the rules myself. Alen. a.k.a. "monkey" a.k.a."self-nader"

I PMed this to Jeff.. haven't gotten a response yet:
I'm in the same boat Code. I jump when someone is shooting at me to dodge bullets, I also toggle between crouch & standing. I don't think I've ever did a BH-Hs though.

I'm confused.
Ah, nevermind. It doesn't matter. Bunny-hopping has been banned from our server.
I might as well just disable my jump button. But see, I only do that when I CAN'T fire back. I.E When I have to reload, or I don't know where I'm being shot from.
Oh well, it doesn't matter.

When your getting shot at are we allowed to bunny-hop then (...if you wait 2 seconds for firing after your last jump ?).

Lol...I bunny hop and I still can't hit anything. I've never heard of the HS thing because everytime I jump it's because I'm being shot at and I'm hoping that doesn't get me banned. I mean, I think jumping like that is a lifesaver and when I shoot, I never get a HS. It is always either in the chest or I die. So, does the bunny-hopping - HS glitch happen right before you hit the ground or what? All I do is shoot the op when I'm jumping around. There's my 'Lincoln Deuce'

I havnt been playing much on the server in the pass month, however I am also slightly befuddled by the addition of the bunny hopping rule; or in essense, a "no jumping more than twice rule." It is very common and almost habitual that players hit the space button when exposed to expected crossfire. My question would be whether or not a player will be banned for 15 minutes for jumping as a defensive evasion. It is undoubtly true that some players choose to exploit glitches within the game, however many people "jump" in the game with no ill intentions. Natural instinct and habitual reasons causes me personally to jump when fired upon unexpectedly or while unable to fireback. However by no means am I questioning the validity of the new rule as I will try to the best of my abilities to abide by the new rule. These questions and opinions merely represent questions about the new rule so that I can better comply with them. Thanks.

I think I got it now, my questions were answered. I'm going to bind the Jump button to ALT+CTRL+DEL, so I restart instead of getting banned

At the risk of being flamed I will put this out here. Why do I not bunny hop in the game? Because it makes no sense! Go put a 40lb backpack on and try jumping around in your backyard while your friends whip stuff at you. 1. You will probably be lucky to hop three times before you end up on the ground, 2. Unless all your friends throw worse than me(not very likely), they will hit you anyways. If someone can find me a training manual from ANY military organization around the world that advocates jumping around like a scared grasshopper during a fire fight, I would love to see it.
Does the game let you hop around like a bunny, frog, kangaroo, etc... Yes. Does it make any sense? About as much sense as it made to jump in that tree behind alpha in previous versions of the game.
The point is this guys, there is an exploit associated with this behavior. Whether done accitdentally or not, it is still an exploit nonetheless(as in "Gee officer I didn't mean to speed so can I not get a ticket").
Is this just a game? Yes, as I have always said it is just a game. But when it stops being fun for someone(like the guy who doesn't want to play anymore because he keeps getting headshot round after round), then that is not cool in my book.
Rant mode off for now. Feel free to flame me, the temperature has dropped 15 degrees over the past week and gas prices are gonna be sky high soon. ;D

I am sorry for seaming rebelious... even though I probably am at this point. If you look at the soldier... he has no backpack on... only a but-pack. I can guarantee you that if hopping around like a grasshopper would keep you from getting hit in real life, it would be in a training manual. But this is a game. And hopping around DOES save you, in the game. I for one never even knew that there was a bunyhop-headshot bug and never cared when someone got a headshot on me. I would think, "blast! I'm down.. but good for him, headshot, I got blasted by someone better than me; better than getting hit by a noob who shot at me 10 times before I struck out." that is my view. I hate it that the devs haven't fixed a bug that is now changing the way we play on our server, and I will try to follow the rule, but it will be hard. Strategist

Why is there even an discussion going on? It's pointless. Peace made the rule, the rule is simple and clear - if you hop more than two times in a row, then you're gone.
Sure, I don't understand it and I don't believe in it, but I'm not gonna sit here and rant about it when I know it won't be changed. I'll enforce the rule as always and try my best to obey the rule.
There's really no need to sit here and debate over something that isn't going to be changed.

Jeff doesn't need the added pressure of people arguing with rules. When the glitch is fixed in an updated version I'm sure it won't be as much of an issue. As Dream said it is a rule that must be followed. Please stop debating the issue for the Princess' sanity's sake.

The rule doesn't say anything about jumping under fire as long as you don't jump more than twice.
Personaly if I'm being shot at and I don't know where it's coming from, I usually jump once or twice and then do the crouch up-and-down thing. I find it nearly (not "as effective", nearly) as effective as bunny-hopping and people aren't near as likely to get mad at you for doing it (also, you aren't going to get kicked from the server for using the crouch tecnique).
Just my thoughts.
