I was looking at the instructions for this part of the forum and it said that if Jesus has changed my life, I should post a testimony. I guess I didn't have much of a choice then because Jesus definitely is the center of my life and is the basis for how I try to shape myself. My testimony is very simple and can't compare to most of those found here. I was fortunate enough to have a family that was already on the right track. They knew how important Jesus was and wanted nothing less than to make sure I knew that every day. I am so thankful to God for that! Here is my baptism testimony:
My name is Ben and Jesus has become the focus and love of my life. I was very blessed when I was growing up because I was born into not just a loving family, but one that based their lives around God and His teachings. My parents always taught with scripture and instilled in me the values found in it. I discovered a respect for God and the knowledge that he loved me and wanted to be a personal part of my life. I was still, however, too young to really appreciate the magnitude of His gift of salvation to me. As I got older, I really saw the world around me. It became a sinful place where people were so caught up in themselves that they just couldn’t find a moment to commit to Him. I also found that I myself was susceptible to this sin and was in many ways week in my knowledge of scripture. In middle school, I feel that I was able to really grasp how much I needed Him. I had committed my life to Him before through prayer and my best actions, but I believe that I really received His grace when I was able to see the corruption in the world around me. My spiritual life soon took root and He became the center of my life. I grew in both my knowledge of His teachings and the real implications of them in the world. I feel that I am a person who has become reliant on the truth found in scripture and my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
As you can see, It was not an extreme hardship that took place in my life; it was my parents conviction to making sure I was raised in the Truth! Thank you for taking the time to read my little post and I hope to see you all at bible study! Your's in Christ, Ben
PS: If you are a runner, I have been looking for you! I run cross country and track. I think that it would be really cool to get to know others in the clan/forum who do the same. PM me!
