Everyone knows that the Christmas season is one of the busiest, fastest, and craziest times of the year, especially for those involved in church performances and such. So, just for fun, how crazy is your Christmas season going to be this year? If you'd like, share your family's plans here, and we can see who's most likely to be in an insane asylum by the end of the year .
I'll go first, since i brought it up . It starts today, actually ... we leave in about 10 minutes to visit Princess' parents today and tomorrow for our Christmas with them (including visits to her grandparents' houses as well).
On Saturday, we have the church Christmas program practice (dress rehearsal!) in the morning; I'm playing "Hezekiah the Innkeeper" , Princess will portray his wife "Anna", and the Peacelings all have parts as well.
After the practice, we're going to Princess' sister's house to celebrate Christmas with them, and then they're coming to our house for supper and more Christmas celebration!
The Christmas program will be performed twice on Sunday morning (at the 8:15 and 11:00 services), and on Sunday evening, the church is having its annual Christmas caroling. DidI mention that I'm also working my regular overnight shifts in the midst of all this? Monday I'll be sleeping all day .)
After that, we get a brief break, until the Christmas Eve service at the church. After Christmas morning here at Castle Peace, we'll be going to visit my parents for the afternoon through the next day, getting back in time for me to start my work week again on Friday night.
After that , there's only one event left on our Christmas calendar -- the annual party at my aunt's house (about an hour away now) on New Year's Day, which is always a lot of fun (she always has a pinata for the kids, and there's a ton of food and desserts and such -- stop by if you're going to be in the Olean area that day ).
Well, that's our story! Even in all the hustle and bustle of this busy season, don't forget to take time to remember why we celebrate at this time -- that God sent us His Son, born in a stable in Bethlehem, to die for our sins outside Jerusalem and be raised again to ensure eternity with Him for all who believe in Him. Have a great weekend and a great Christmas season, everyone!
