Ok this is said to be impossible you take 3 little houses and 3 circles on a peice of paper then you have to draw 3 lines to each circle and each house (each circle to house and each house to a circle). Here is an example for those who dont understand. img201.imageshack.us/my.php?image=housesmv9.pngMe and my sophmore class tried over and over and could never get it it is impossible go ahead try it for yourself.

Actually, it's impossible only if you can't cut a hole in the paper and use both sides of the paper (in other words, utilizing the third dimension that exists in the real world ) . [ Click here for the solution.]

We tried to get our teacher to let us do that u know a little tunnle under a line and we even had one of my friends take the line from a circle to a house then a little man took the line to the other two houses to connect them both things completed it but the teacher said no. She said she worked all summer trying to figure it out but she said if its done in the 3rd dimension it can be done but the challange is 2d =]

wow, looks like i am gonna have to try it! oh, and if anyone noticed, i was not active for about a week. well, i am a boy scout so i went to winter camp(brrr!!! ) but it was a lot of fun. back to the subject, looks like a pretty fun puzzle, and i am gonna try and figure out a loophole.

If you want to waste your time trying to solve it, go ahead, but it has been mathematically proven to be impossible (check the link hidden in my post above for two different mathematical methods of proving the impossibility of the problem). You're better off wasting your time playing AA -- which is what I'm about to do! ;D

For one of the mathematical ways of doing it, I think I found a loophole because of the way they had it set up. To me it seemed glaringly obvious; however I have yet to actually try it.

I think that the graph theories and mathmatical applications of this is extreemly interesting because it seems so simple... cool.

It also seemed simple when our teacher told us about it. We all smiled and said we could do it first try. Well nobody got it and everyone was stumped. So we tried diffrent things to get it and hey we got it. Only in the third dimension could it be done =]

yep, there is a way to do everything of you try hard enough! i am still working on it, but its fun so its not like homework. oh and by the way, happy new year!

Graph theory was developed by a bunch of old men sitting around in a smoky bar wondering how they could confuse the living daylights out of local students. The phenomena spread, like the Rick Roll, until it finally went mainstream among the mathematicians. To this day, the world hates mathematicians.
