Hey Guys,
I’ve put this off for some time but New Years day seems an appropriate date for it. I’m quitting AA, and therefore stepping down from the LC and leaving the clan.
That’s the short of it, and now I’ll tell you why. This last year has been my gap year between high school and college. I didn’t know what I was going to be doing in college, or where I would be going, so I felt like giving myself a year to decide my direction. During this year so many things have happened to show me exactly where I’m going, and that would be to Liberty University to major in Music. I have been studying classical piano for five years, and this has adequately prepared me for college. I’m excited about going, and look forward to beginning in the Fall ’09 semester. However, being adequate isn’t quite enough for me. While the virtual lens gives you only a glimpse of the person on the other side, in real life I am a determined, dedicated, and driven person, especially once I have set my mind to something. Now that I have set my mind and future on music, I plan to dedicate myself to it with the time and effort to become the absolute best that I can be. Unfortunately, this dedication requires me to cut out the excesses in my life, and one of those is America’s Army. It would be difficult for me to stay on in the clan if I no longer participate in its focus, that being evangelization through gaming. Thus I have decided to leave the clan as well.
It is difficult to put into words all of the joy and the little sadness I have experienced here, all ultimately for my personal growth, and that of others. I have met fantastic people, learned to play an amazing game, and learned important life lessons. My life would be much poorer if it wasn’t for all of you, and to the many who have already walked through the door I am now closing. It would be difficult if not impossible to name all of those who have touched my life through this forum, and I thank all of you immensely. I wish there was more time to play games, discuss the Bible, make decisions, and resolve issues… but unfortunately my time has been used up.
Thank you so much for the 3 and some years of community and growth!
-Andrew E.
PS. For personal reasons I plan on deleting my account here on Sat. the 10th of January. If for whatever reason you wish to contact me, my email is andrewbuddy12@gmail.com
