Thank You Ed. The Wife and I really enjoyed it. Praise God that he gives individuals talent such as this.

If I could sing like that I would not be a pipefitter or welder.

Nice, but you'd think that such professionals would at least try to sing the right words instead of sounding like morons, or worse yet, sounding like they're deliberately changing the song's good words to fit their bad theology . A harsh criticism? Perhaps -- but note the slight-yet-extreme slip-up at the beginning of the "last" verse (right after the bagpipes). They sing "when we've been here" instead of "when we've been There"! What kind of fool wants to spend another 10,000 years on this rotting planet that is doomed for God's judgment and destruction, when those who truly know and love Christ have been given the promise of a new heaven and a new earth for eternity? ;D (Perhaps the kind of fool that wants everyone to "save the planet" rather than to use it as God intended us to do? ) Other than that, not bad -- but as a fellow musician and theologian, I can only give it 1 of 5 stars for that colossal blunder (whether accidental or intentional) into extremely bad theology, sorry.

I just had to research that one - I found this (and many other explanations), I would have to agree with Jeff, they messed up the "additional verse". The verse preceding it explains it all. Modern lyrics to Amazing Grace:
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come; ’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, and mortal life shall cease, I shall possess within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, who call'd me here below, Will be forever mine.
Some versions include an additional verse:
When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we'd first begun.
As you can see from the original version above, this verse is not by John Newton. According to Wikipedia it was originally from a hymn called "Jerusalem, My Happy Home". It was added to a version of "Amazing Grace" by Harriet Beecher Stowe, as it appears in her novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin". In the novel, Uncle Tom joined the lyrics of several hymns together and those who learned the lyrics from that source have assumed that it was part of the original. This song reminds me again of the childrens chorus: Be careful little ears, what you hear

If I could sing like that I would not be a pipefitter or welder. Inside, I think we all sing like that! In heaven we will sing even better than that.
