Quick Question,
Why is it that the status of the game servers is not visible in the header like it is when you visit certain parts of the site.
It's kind of difficult to find too!
I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, but back when I was working on stuff for my clan - we found it handy to have it visible on the site at all times so visitors knew immediately if clan members were in a server.
I know your comms are kept private - and I totally understand why that is, but it also did the clan some good to have people know your comms had people in it too...it just gives a warm fuzzy feeling to visitors to know the clan is active!
I might just not be navigating the site properly...but just some food for thought....that and I don't want to do my job today so I'm here...wasting everyone's time with this post!

If you connect to the forum through the forum.of-god.us link, it will redirect to ofgod.proboards.com/index.cgi?. When loading, this page should display the three server monitors. Now, also keep in mind that AA auth and the entire AA site/system is DOWN, so our #1 & #2 House-=Of-God=- servers show likewise. As far as comms, we do have a vent server and a chat room, but as you noticed, it is for members and PRs only. Still, stick around because there is a lot more goin on here that you may not be able to see. I encourage you to looking into recruitment here. See u around, ~Ben~

I understand - it just seems odd that you have to actually go back to your address bar and retype the URL to be able to see the server status. If you click the 'home' button on the forum menu, it takes you to the first page of the forums, but doesn't show the server status.
I also understand that there is a lot that is hidden for guests/non-clan members. Thats fine and necessary. I'm just pointing out that from a visitor's standpoint, it is a bit cumbersome to find information that would help me know how active the members of the clan are and where I could meet up with some of them.
As far as the comms go, I didn't easily find information stating that you do use Vent, but that it is kept private and if you would like to interact with members of the clan they are invited to join the servers (hence the need to have the server status up and in the face of visitors at all times).
I'm not meaning to be annoying and critical - just trying to express my point of view as an interested visitor.
blessings, Eric

You make some good points. There are certain quirks of ProBoards forums that make it impossible to add the server status windows to the top of all forum windows, or to the top of the main window when you hit the "Home" button (in that instance, it's because the same URL shows for the main board at "Home" as for the "Preview PM" screen, which would keep people from being able to preview a PM before they send it -- hard to explain, but that's the basics of it : . What I recommend (and do myself, as well ) is to keep the main forum listing open in one browser tab, and open all the boards that have "new posts" in new browser tabs. That way, it's easy for me to either refresh the main page after viewing the posts (and thus see the updated status in the monitor frames) or to click the "Hide Viewer" and then "Show Viewer" buttons to refresh the monitors. But I'll take a look into seeing if there's a better way to do what you're looking for, without crashing other necessary ProBoards functions .

seems reasonable - I've not used ProBoards so don't know the ins & outs, but I understand what your saying. I've been here for a couple days now and it's still hard to navigate some things.
I guess I just look at things from a simplistic point of view trying to get to the end result as quick as possible....I work with youth so I'm always looking at trying to find ways to get the message across as quickly and as easily as possible...or you risk losing your audience!
just a habit I guess.

As long as it's done in a respectful manner - as you have been doing - comments of these types are always welcome. I very much appreciate your involvement with the forum and your interest - thanks for taking the time to ask questions that may prompt better answers! Sam
