The day memorial day has a new meaning with me this weekend. because i can now directly relate to those who have lost loved ones. everyone has known someone who has gone to war. everyone has that cousin or that friend of a friend; but this weekend i ask from you all to take a moment of your time and just extend some personal gratitude to those who have answered the call. i can tell you first hand that going to war isnt easy. it isnt fun. and it isnt glorious. we just did our jobs. what we were ordered to do. the US military is a 100% volunteer force. while i was deployed we would always talk about our friends our families our personal motivations. hopes. dreams and plans once we were state side. but many of these men and women never got to see their hopes and dreams played out. they decided to give their lives for every man woman and child in this country. but not only the United States. but every single country, territory and Provence on this planet owes something to our armed forces. weather it be the Global war on terror. or a helping hand during a natural disaster. my over all point. is. just because this is memorial day weekend or any other holiday. IE veterans day Armed forces day every day should be a memorial day. perhaps not to the same decor of this monday. but something. say a prayer. if you see a veteran shake his hand.say thanks. always remember they are there so you dont have to be. thats the end of my small rant
