I'm also playing on dial-up. My ping is usually around 200. I've been able to get a few kills lately, but only by finding a place and hiding, and having an enemy stroll by. Honor is up to 15 though, so I'm making SOME progress. I'm still not sure at how to report in...I usually don't know where I am. I healed a few guys last night, so that was cool. I can't peek around corners very good, so I get shot in the face a lot. But I AM improving...ever so slowy. AND I'm in the process of running some hacks on a linksys router, and I might be able to pullin some highspeed wireless internet. That should help me out tremendously.

Well, reporting in is just the press of the "U" key by default. When you hit the report in key, it tells your team exactly where you are in the chat console area. Bro Jeff a.k.a. [glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300] †_FC_†™[/shadow][/glow]

LOL That DID sound like I was up to some "shady" behavior, didn't it? Actually in this case, it's not. We have high speed internet access at my place of employment, via wireless. I am going to modify two cheap Linksys routers so that they will be able to connect me to my place of business, and access the net that way. I'm head of IT here, so I'm authorized to do so. I did "borrow" high speed wireless for a month a so last year...someone in our neighborhood had their router completely unsecured. From what I read, that wasn't illegal, as long as I didn't attempt to access their system, or modify any settings in the router. It did feel wrong ethically, so I stopped.

I always thought hitting U just put up the "reporting in part, and that I'd have to then type in my loc. Thanks.

It's also a good way to learn where all the radio locations are in single player mode. As you go to different parts of the map, report in and see what it says. That way, the next time you play in multiplayer, when other people report in, you will know where they are as well. Bro Jeff a.k.a. [shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300] †_FC_†™[/glow][/shadow]

But anywho yeah oh and then she forgot her user name so thats why I looked at this thread and decided to update yall on how she's doin. (or not doin lol jp.) Have a great day! Brittany Rae

my best friend Andrew ( ].[Integrity(R) ) plays with dial-up. He isn't good but he's improving quickly, using ventrilo or teamspeak however in conjunction with the game just doesn't work. If someone plays with dial-up they need to make sure that all their "bandwidth" goes to the game and not other programs , its not ideal but its doable. ~Michael ].[Liberty

I use dial-up all the time and cannot use anything else (high-speed is not available where I live). Sometimes dial-up runs fine, but other times it does not work so well (gaps in the action). Of course I can't really compare it to high-speed since I haven't really had many chances to play on it. I often use the commands dumpcache and flush to help smooth things out, but I am not sure these commands help. Although I play on a low-end laptop, I am pretty sure the connection is the problem. I'm almost in the exact same situation. (However, my laptop is highend Sometimes its pretty good but othertimes its really laggy. It's not the video memory (128mb dedicated video memory-about 512mb video memory -shared) but the connection. I use obj garbage, dumpcache, and flush and sometimes that helps but a lot of the time there is nothing i can do.
