I don't, but I know that Matt (Hammer-=Of-God=-) uses it. It could be that my memory is failing but i believe Matt's on cable now. I do remember his complaints about dial-up and AA so i guess it's not a good combination lol

I use dial-up all the time and cannot use anything else (high-speed is not available where I live). Sometimes dial-up runs fine, but other times it does not work so well (gaps in the action). Of course I can't really compare it to high-speed since I haven't really had many chances to play on it. I often use the commands dumpcache and flush to help smooth things out, but I am not sure these commands help. Although I play on a low-end laptop, I am pretty sure the connection is the problem.

I played on Dial-up for almost 3 months in upper state NY. It drove me crazy but I can't complain, I got mad skillz from it. ;D

Ever try downloading the full version of AA over dial up? I have (well, it was only version 1.5, but still). It took over 24 hours of downloading! If that is not bad enough, it was corrupted the first time I tried. Good thing I had an FTP client that allowed me to start and stop downloads (and recover from lost connections). I also did several updates (1.6 and 1.7) at several hundred megabytes each.

I love dial-up. Sorry, I can't stand dial-up at all. I think it's a dead technology, much like the VCR. However, that's just me. She'll be able to play, but not very well -- her ping will never see anything below 150, even with a US server. Sorry.

Brittany Rae I suggest that someone with cable will download it and put it on a cd (or 2). Saves you about 83 hours

I love dial-up. Sorry, I can't stand dial-up at all. I think it's a dead technology, much like the VCR. However, that's just me. She'll be able to play, but not very well -- her ping will never see anything below 150, even with a US server. Sorry. I don't think you will ever see the end of dial-up internet. There are so many rural areas where the cable and dsl companies will never move into simply because it is not practical to do so. Dial-up internet is better than no internet at all. I think if there was a census taken of how many people just in the United States who are on dial-up, we would be amazed. And even in areas where there are cable or dsl, they just can't afford anything but dial-up. And let's face it, all you need for a dial-up connection is a phone line. Also, not everyone has a need for a fast connection. If all someone is going to do is check their email and maybe surf the net for information, then cable just isn't practical. So no, I don't think it's a dead technology as long as there is a need for it and people are willing to pay for it. Bro Jeff a.k.a. [shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300] †_FC_†™[/glow][/shadow]

I wouldn't want to try dial up. I was playing on a lite speed cable connection (three times dial up speeds) and got killed by lag more times than I care to remember. Hope for the best for her, though.

lol I'm so behind on the boards!!! It's very possible to play on Dial up, jsut don't expect to rock the world with your skill. Whenver PB takes a Screenshot you will NOT be able to play. Just wait it out, it takes around a minute and a half. And sadly that Cable deal fell flat... so I'm still a Dial up user.
