Have you ever wished that you could help catch the cheating scum that terrorize your AA playing days? Well, guess what? NOW YOU CAN!!! ;D Most official leased honor servers (from GoAA, like our #1 server) have a facility available where you can view PunkBuster ScreenShots, which show you what is on the player's screen at the time the shot is taken, and these will often reveal cheats that someone is using, such as special crosshairs, player radar, etc.
Once you find a picture where someone is cheating, you can then submit it to the AASA (America's Army Server Administrators), the anti-cheat group with which the -=Of-God=- Clan is honored to be affiliated. If the shot that you submit is properly verified to be on the game server (so time is of the essence!) and it is determined that it proves the use of a cheat, the cheater that you find will be added to the AASA Master Ban List, often within 24 hours. Shortly after that, this cheater will no longer be able to log on to the -=Of-God=- Clan's servers, or to any of the other 225+ servers that run the AASA banlist.
All you need to do is be a registered user at the AASA forum. (HINT: when you register there, use your full AA screenname, including your clan tag. If you're registered there without your clan tag, let me know -- I know who to contact to get it changed for you.) Then find a cheater, and follow the simple submission guidelines to post the cheater's information and PBSS in the Public PBSS Cheater Submission board at the AASA forum.
How do you find a cheater? Well, here's a great tool for doing just that: the America's Army PBSS Viewer (official -=Of-God=- Clan Edition)! Several editions of this viewer are in use across the AASA world, and now we have our own, by "special arrangement" with the author . By clicking the default radio button, you can view the PBSS's on our #1 server. Or, you can enter the IP of other GoAA/SCI servers into the text field, and view their PBSS's also. [NOTE: works best in Internet Explorer -- not recommended with FireFox due to some graphical issues. For FireFox users, I recommend Herdsman's PunkSpy PBSS viewer.]
I would recommend that you familiarize yourself with the information found in the Common Wrong Submissions post before you start looking. This topic shows examples of several things that look like the player might be cheating, but they're legitimate.
Then, once you find someone that is cheating (and is not already banned), be sure to follow the correct posting procedure, so that the shot can be verified quickly (before it gets overwritten). There's a PINNED post there that describes the exact information needed and how to get it (it's VERY easy!).
So, how about it? Are you ready willing to join the ranks of the few, the proud, the "AASA Server Trolls" -- those who do their part (and then some!) to help combat the cheating scum? If you are, go get registered at the AASA forum and read up on what you need to know -- then grab our handy PBSS Viewer tool and get to work!!
