Having read about this on the AASA boards, I'm not submitting these shots as cheating. But could somebody explain why this occurs? It's not an AA standard crosshair.

Jackalope at AASA wrote[/b] This was posted under the common wrong submissions board, which tells me he's not cheating. Just wondering why it happens, if anyone knows.

The PBSS is decimated by 2, which means every other pixel is removed, both horizontally and vertically. In other words the full resolution picture has every other pixel column removed and every other pixel line removed. That's why the text appears mostly garbled too. Since the "+" crosshair is 1 pixel wide, it is possible that the vertical or horizontal portion of the crosshair will be removed.
You can tell it's decimated by 2 because it says "sample = 2" in the text part of the SS at the bottom.

Yep, exactly like that, Dave -- often either the vertical or horizontal lines of the 3-line or 4-line crosshairs will be erased using Sample Rate 2. SR2 erases every other pixel vertically and horizontally, so that we can get a screenshot that covers 4 times as much of the user's screen than we would see using SR1.
