I recently was banned from the of-god server after a year or so of playing on it. I have never had a problem before and when I asked they said I was banned because of my name, -e6.Armed_Robbery-. I have that name because it reminds me of what my life used to be like and all the things I used to do before I gave my life to the lord. To me if I dont remind myself of how much my life has changed then I may just go back to stealing, shooting, robbing, selling drugs, etc, because I wont realize how much of an impact that Jesus has had on my life. The only thing I have a question about is why ban me now if after a year or so of playing on the of-god server and never having a complaint about my name, why now?

Hey, welcome to the forum! I sent you a PM about this already. The bottom line is that we do not and will not allow names on our server that depict illegal activities; the only reason that you weren't banned before is that I never saw you there on that name before, as far as I know. You told Missionary last night in the server chat (on your alternate account) that you were saved just last week; that's great news! The point of salvation is that there is a change in your life; as Paul told the believers in Corinth, "Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" ( 2 Corinthians 5:17). I believe that a much more fitting testimony to what you've been forgiven of would be to stop using your old name that glorifies the illegal activity of your past, and start using a name that glorifies the One Who saved you from that past! I can understand your reason for wanting to "remember your chains", but you must "remember that your chains are gone". Rather than focusing on the negative of your past, focus on the positive wonder of what He has done for you. If you keep your focus on Jesus, on His love for you and your love for Him in return, you won't want to go back to your "old life". I appreciate you coming here to talk about this. As I told you in the PM, we'd be happy to lift the ban as soon as you remove the depiction of illegal activity from your name. Think it over, pray about it, and if you want more Biblical counsel about it ... feel free to ask ... that's why we're here. ~ Peace
