Is it maybe a good idea that there would be a chatbord on the forum? Because it is so much better then sending pm's all over when you need to know some things for like as the tournament ore other little things. Pm's can still be used though, when some1 is not on chatbord ore something, ore not online. But it would be fun. Let me know.

If possible, that would cost more money, and that isn't really what we are lookin for. My idea for you, Ezra is to get Aol Instant Messenger or XFire, which are both free, and both of which some of our members use, and we could chat there for free...

Actually, I have found and tested some free chat programs that can be integrated into a ProBoards forum, but they don't work very well for our purposes (you get what you pay for, I guess ).

We could use IRC and set up a channel for the clan there, I recommend dalnet since they have channel services to control who comes and goes with a password among other things. I could host our own IRC server as well if needed. Plus we could make use of AA's built in IRC client. If you have the game you already have the client.
Just a thought.
I'm willing to moderate and run a channel. If anyone wants to test this out I'll get it going.
One other thing is you could set up a java applet IRC client on the forum easy enough.

The idea of setting up an IRC channel has already been denied in the past i think. Most members aren't familiar with mIRC anyway (...the interface is not user friendly).

Nobody would need to use mIrc, there is an IRC client built into AA plus many free Java clients so they could use the game itself or their webrowser if they wanted to. I'll set something up so you can see the potential use. There is no learning curve if you've used an instant messenger of any kind before, the java applets are very similar, complete with emoticons.

I think the we have vent for that.
1. speaking is faster 2. Vent has a chat function 3. Best way is forum, you cant "forget" things when it stands solid in a post. you can always find things back. That is not possible in any other way...

Actually, that was nearly two years ago, Wiz; his dishonorable discharge was issued on Valentine's Day 2004 -- the first guy that I personally had to remove from the clan (the previous member to be dishonorably discharged, Wings, was dismissed for cheating, but that was by Wrath, as one of his last actions as clan leader, in late October 2003). Anyway, don't lose heart, y'all -- I'm working on yet another new solution to your desire to chat in the forum, so hang in there! I'm going to lock this thread for now, while I add some finishing touches and test it out -- until then, Jamie's got a great suggestion -- use the chat in Vent, that's what it's there for!
