For those who have upgraded to FireFox 2.0: you may have noticed already (as I did) that you can no longer use "ALT + S" to submit a post here. Craig & Peter (from ProBoards support) came up with the following workaround, as posted here (note that the link immediately below will NOT go to that forum): Hi, Since FireFox 2 was released earlier in the week, people trying to use the alt + s, and other shortcuts, whilst posting, have been unable to do so. This is because, by default, FireFox developers have decided in their wisdom to change things around, and make the alt + shortcut system work with their menu options. People have posted this as being a ProBoards problem in the bugs board, and have even suggested that we change the shortcuts. However, alt + s is standard amongst most sites, forums, blogs and so forth to send the form, and so in my opinion, this has been a silly, and shortsighted thing to do by Mozilla, and hopefully, they will switch it back round to how it's supposed to be in the near future. I, being an avid FireFox user though, instantly sought to overcome this problem, and with the help of Peter from this board, we found a solution. That solution is as follows: 1. In your address bar, type 'about:config' and enter. 2. Filter for 'ui.key' 3. change chromeAccess to 5 4. change contentAccess to 4 And now alt + s should work for you, like it should, and always has. Regards, Craig *presses alt + s*(BTW, that just worked for me also .)

Well, that's true, Marcus -- but you have to pay attention to the little red underline when it shows up in what you're typing (like when you typed "cuz" above instead of "because" or "u" instead of "you" j/k, bro, but couldn't resist mentioning that ).

Yeah I know It's just i couldn't care less if I spelled anything wrong. Is it just me or has this new version made the whole internet experience slower?

Everything works just as fast for me. I didn't even know about the 'alt + s' shortcut until now.

I didn't even know about the 'alt + s' shortcut until now. I don't know, Joe ... this one might be too easy ... but I'm not too proud to take an easy shot! Here goes: In the "Quick-Reply" area, next to the "Post Reply" button, this message is posted: And in the "Post Message" view, just above the "Post Reply", "Preview", "Spell Check", and "Reset" buttons, this message is posted:

Well... is there a way to disable spell-checker? I trust my touch-typing more than I trust specll-check...

Well... is there a way to disable spell-checker? I trust my touch-typing more than I trust specll-check... Yes, Tools>Options, then Advanced>General, then uncheck "Check my spelling as I type." Though, as long as we're taking stabs here... I'm not sure I'm quite as confident in your typing as you are. Sorry... though I'm not sure why you'd really want it off anyway; I can't imagine it being much of a bother.

Why don't you just use shift + alt + s?

Because it's easier to hit ALT + S than SHIFT + ALT + S.

Because it's easier to hit ALT + S than SHIFT + ALT + S. A teacher of organizational behavior told me that people cant be lazy, they are not motivated but you make me doubt BiG times . BTW Joe When I was reading this topic I had not a clue what they were talking about either but I did know alt+p was the shortcut in proboard for preview
