Some of you may have noticed a change by ProBoards in the placement of the advertisements on discussion threads -- they are now after the first post in the thread. For those of you using AdBlock, that's the reason for that blank table cell between the first two posts of a thread (see below -- seeing that blank space is what led me to the ProBoards Support forum to find out what was going on ). While I acknowledge that it is an inconvenience to have to scroll another inch to get to the replies, I really don't see it as something to get all "up in arms" about, as many of the folks who posted in this thread at PB Support apparently did. The ads are a "necessary evil", and they're going to be here somewhere ... nothing we can do about thatt ... so wherever they are, just ignore them and scroll on down to the important stuff in the thread. Thank you!

This is a sample reply, just to show the ad placement (or blank-space placement, for AdBlock users). "So not the drama" -- just scroll down and continue reading -- no big deal!

I can't believe this has happened?!?!? This will take all the fun out of playing AA, being in the clan, and breathing. Something needs to be done about this!!!!! This is an outrage?!!! Too much? Ok, way way WAY over the top, but just couldn't resist...

Ah, that's why. I knew there was a good explanation lurking somewhere, I just needed to find it. Thanks!

I didn't even notice. Of course I have adblock on.
Anyway thanks for the laugh guys.
Sometimes that is the only way to deal with things we have no control over.

Speaking of advertisments... my wife said that when she was browsing the forums last week there was an ad for a gay dating site (or something to that effect) at the top of the page. I'll see if I can get her to take a screenshot if she sees anything like that again. Just thought that I'd give you an FYI incase someone else had a similar ad pop up.

Unfortunately, there's nothing that we can do about the content of the ads. The best that we can do is post the disclaimer that shows with the ads, stating that there's nothing that we can do about them. However, for those who have registered for the forum, the ads do not show any more, as we are currently using ProBoards' "Ad-Free" service so that those who are here most frequently don't have to worry about the content of the ads.

Yes, there is a cost associated with the ad-free service (which is why only registered members are given that privilege) ... it's $7 a month for 50,000 ad-free pageviews; we currently average around 35,000 ad-free pageviews a month.

You could make another benefit for joining the clan. Or make a loyalty program, you get lots of benefits and you can only play loyalty on MOUT McKenna .
