Greetings brothers (and sisters) in Christ. I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Richard but everyone calls me Rich - Richard sounds too pretentious for me. I am a happily married 32 year old who has been blessed with three sons - aged almost 4, almost 2 and 7 weeks. Originally from Liverpool, England (native of Liverpool is called a Scouser which got shortened by me to Skowsa) but have lived in Canada for 12 years. I am active in the Lord of the Rings Strategic Battle Game (aka 25mm toy soldiers) online community. Do a google on Skowsa and you almost get my online life story (if you see references to plants it is a different Skowsa). I am the admin of a Christian Gamers Forum which unites Christians with a love of playing toy soldiers. I just learned about AA from my brother-in-law about two weeks ago. Loved the look and feel of the game and thought the cost was about right for me. Fell into your server yesterday and was well impressed. Mature players and a friendly attitude. Great banter between all players - which I tried to join in with but kept getting an "illegal function" message. I have completed all offline training except for SF E&E. My online play is embarrassing though - need more practise. I look forward to joining in some of these great threads. God bless, Rich ~ Skowsa.

Texeagle432, I was in Texas last year visiting my sister and her family in San Antonio. Beautiful city and absolutely amazing people. Canadians are supposed to be the friendly and welcoming people, but the Texans I met were sooo friendly. Loved it.
For help on finishing the Silmarillion, try the audio book version. I struggled with the book the first coupleof times but now totally enjoy it. If you have the audio book on in the background while working you can sort of absorb the story through osmosis. It makes it easier to read the book afterwards as you have the gyst of the stories already.

AA is definitely a very addicting habit -- I'd advise you to run while you still can, but if you've been in for two weeks already, it's too late -- there's no hope for you now! Instead, just plunge in the best you can, and get involved with the best group of soldiers you can find, and learn from them. (By the way, you've got the first two parts of that covered by hanging out here! ) As SuDDe said, AA is unfortunately riddled with cheaters and with profane and disrespectful players. While we don't claim to keep our server 100% free of either, we do ensure that those who do cheat, swear, disrespect others, etc., on our server will be punished for their deeds. Our current private banlist (one of the largest of any AA clan) includes 1,480 individual accounts of those who put that to the test and found it to be true, and there are currently an additional 14,522 cheaters on the AASA banlist that are also unable to enter our game server. If you're interested in getting involved even more with our family, stop by the Recruitment Applications area, which is now open to you.

Nice to meet you Rich I like the line you put about AA..."..and the price is about right for me." Yeah, I would say it is about right for everyone. Anyway, I hope you have fun on our server and don't worry about skill, it has nothing to do with this clan (as long as you don't Team-Kill everyone ). Have fun and I hope to play with you on the server. :coolspeak: Sean

Hey Everyone, sounds like a good post. I totally agree with you Skowsa about the Of-God clan, from what I've seen and heard, they are all really good guys. I hopt to aspire to that form of excellence. I think you'll enjoy it here I can tell you I have ;D I see you like reading fantasy books, have you tried the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordon? Right now I'm pretty addicted to his series, it's a lot of fun to read and it really draws you in. If you get the chance, I suggest giving it a try. Well, anyway, just wanted to say Hi and welcome. Perhaps we'll get to join the clan about the same day if all goes well (I put in my application last night). Alright, take care Skowsa, I look forward to seeing you in-game. Peace 'n Blessings to ya!

Daramore, had a blast playing against you last night. I am in serious need of more practise though! I got killed about 15 times and only got 1 kill - it could have bene a couple of more but a few of us were laying down suppressing fire and one of the others got the kill. I will look into the Robert Jordon books at the local library. I have just finished the Ted Dekker Black, Red and White series and Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series so I am between books. Hopefully we do get to join the clan on the same day. Watching you play last night and what i have read in here I have to say that you deserve it. Congratulations to Adopted on getting into the clan. A big thank you to everyone for all your words of welcome and your encouragement in McKenna last night.

Right back at ya Rich! Believe it or not, you are learning quite fast, I think you'll be an excellent AAO player and a member of the Of-God clan in no time I'll definatly be looking forward to seeing you in-game again ;D Just so you know, there isn't a single person in the world that isn't in need of more practice, so don't worry about it. You're already doing much better than I when I started. I'm sure you'll pick up the rest in no time at all Yah, you should definatly give those books a try. Looks like I got to ya at just the right time seeing as you're between books. The first book is called the Eye of the World (which, my local library didn't have, so I started on the second book in the series called The Great Hunt, but I missed out on a lot). I hope you enjoy them  Same to you friend :salute: In my opinion, you would make a very good addition to the Clan. I doubt it'll take them long to figure out that you're a good guy and BOOM, you'll be in I don't know how long it'll be before I get an answer as to accepted or denied, but I'll wait in patience, expectation, and anticipation. Until the next time Rich, take care. Peace and Blessings my friend PS. I love your signature! Is that off of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring talking about the Dunodine Rangers (don't know if I spelled that right)? Just wondering. Alright, take care.

Indeed, Lord of the Rings is my favorite movie trillogy EVER! No, I haven't finished all of the books, JRR Tolken writes a little too long winded for my tastes. He's an excellent author, mind you I'm not saying he is not, but just a little out of my tastes for written material. Alrighty, just putting in my two cents worth Take care! Peace 'n Blessings!
