Hey all! I'm a huge AA fan, and first started playing on the Of-God servers quite a while back. I was attracted because of the no-cussing rule.
My AA names:
[=ORC=]artist710 - 40 - AAO# 406273 [=ORC=]Lunatic - 25 - AAO# 417350
The ORC clan is entirely local. We're all homeschooling Christians in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. (Clan ID: 31166). We don't cheat and don't cuss.
I'd love to get to meet you guys!
Here's my name and info:
Name: Joshua Casey
Age: 17
Location: Dallas, TX, USA
Public Email: crazyman115@hotmail.com

Welcome to the forums! I'm Dave and I'd just like to ask you to do one thing for us and that is to change your forum name to match your ingame name because then it is alot easier for us to recognize you.
Thanks, Dave

Well, I tried, but it would't accept the [ and ] characters in my clan tag.

Welcome to the forum, Joshua, it's nice to meet you. You'll find a lot of homeschoolers hanging around on this board, including yours truly -- I was homeschooled for six years (my mother is finished with homeschooling after this year as my youngest brother graduates next spring, ending her 22-year career as a homeschool teacher :first:); my wife (Princess-=Of-God=-) was homeschooled for eight years, and she's been teaching our kids for 3 or 4 years now. In your , you can change your "forum displayed name" to match your in-game name; I've set yours to "[=ORC=]artist710" now. You can also add your AAOTracker ID # and have your in-game status appear in your info box, as on mine, to the left here. Thanks for adding your name info; it's nice to get to know people by more than just their screennames. (I'm Jeff, btw. )

Hey! I'm 17, homeschooled, and live in Irving, along with my brothers Herdsman, Gardener, and Kinsman (plus another brother and sister who don't play AA). Marksman and Gamer, our cousins, are also homeschooled, and live in Plano.
Does your clan have a website/forum?

Thank you all for the welcome! No, we don't have an official clan website, since we're not really open to new members, except people we know personally. (We're all really good friends; there are about 8 of us). I'd have to talk with our 'leader' if you're interested in more information.
You live in Irving? Cool! What church do you go to? Have you heard of The Reflections Homeschool Choir?
We go to Believer's Chapel (it's a small, non-denominational Bible church).
Marksman is your cousin! WOW! We used to go to church together - Scofield Memorial Church.

We used to go to church together - Scofield Memorial Church. Boy, that was a while ago, wasn't it? We need to get together again sometime. We now go to Prestonwood Baptist Church here in Plano.

Oh that's fine, I just figured I'd look at it if you had a site, but I'm not interested in joining (even if you were interested in recruiting) -- it looks like an awesome clan concept, but I'm really happy here. My family goes to First Baptist Euless, though we went to Grace Bible Church in Dallas for a long time. How many families are in your clan? There might be more ties than just your acquaintance with Joe. Do you guys ever get all your machines together and LAN party? If you did, It'd be awesome for the 6 of us to get together with the 8 of you!

Guess who isn't home-schooled? *Raises hand* That's right! I'm one of the few people in the clan who go to a public school. I am a sophmore at my high school. So, nice to meet you Josh, I'm Sean and welcome to our forum . Sean

I don't know about First Baptist Euless, but I do know someone that goes to Grace Bible Church, named Betsy Bass... do you know her? We've wanted to get together for a LAN party, but haven't done anything with the whole group. We mainly use skype, though I don't care for it for VOIP while playing AA because my computer isn't very good and it gets laggy... Can anyone recommend another (FREE!!!) program? Oh, my brother Jon has two accounts, both in ORC: AragornofDunedain[=ORC=]ofMordor

Well, the -=Of-God=- clan uses Ventrilo (which is -=Of-God=- only so it's password protected) and its free. The only downside there is, is that you have to setup a server for it. Both the server and client are very small and doesn't affect your gameplay though. Btw, here's my stats, as you can see, I mainly only play MOUT McKenna.

Hi Joshua, I'm Corey/CJ I'm 14 and also one of the many home schooled in the clan. I had a few weeks try at regular school but it just didn't work out. All I really got out of it was a new use for a history book.(inside joke). I thought I was missing out on things being home schooled my whole life but I found out I really was much better off going back to homeschooling. I Hope to play with you on the server soon. (PS: I'm Jewish but I've been attending Ed and Jeff's Bible Study every Thursday night at 9pm Eastern Time on vent and I've been learning a lot. Maybe you can join us this Thursday? ) *PeaCe* ~CJ~ ;D

Last I heard, you could still run a free 8-slot Vent server off of your own computer (if you have the bandwidth to cover it, that is ). We used to use that back in the old days for a little while -- an 8-slot Vent server running on my computer-- wow, that would never do for us now, with 192 members! You can find out more about that at the link that Gamer gave above. And as Corey said, you're welcome to join us for Bible Study this Thursday night (8:00PM your time). But that should read "Ed's Bible study" -- I'm just along for the ride most nights .

No... don't know Betsy, though it's been a few years since we went there, so we wouldn't know anyone who wasn't there back then. [And not for sure even then]

Hey once again! Thanks for all of the tips on Ventrilo. My brother and I tested it out yesterday and it seemed to work pretty well over our LAN, however, we haven't yet figured out how to get it to work over the internet.
Also, my brother Jon was IP-banned from a server today. We've never cheated, so we think it must have been a mad admin... I tried looking at his armyops.log file but couldn't make heads-or-tails of it... is there something I should look for, or another file I should look at?

Hey, at least you're looking in the right place, got the right file and everything! ;D
What you need to do is CTRL-F and search for the word "kick", where he was removed from the server -- it'll be near the end of the file. That should let you know what's going on. (And of course, you have to do that BEFORE you start AA on that computer again, or it'll be gone.)

OK... we tried, but didn't find anything except idle warnings... thanks though. He must have restarted AA or something, I guess.
