The Battle is the Lord’s
My heart pounds inside of me as I look out on the battlefield of life
The remnants of the enemies fiery arrows still burning on the ground
What lay behind me was filled with worry and strife
The strength I feel is not my own I was lost but now I am found
I hear the rushing of the enemy’s feet as they advance
I stand clothed with the full armor of God
Victory will be mine says the Lord nothing will be left to chance
My sword at the ready and shield raised high the dew laid lightly on the sod
This is life’s battle always be prepared never let your guard down
For the enemy is all around your grasp of the Word should be sound
We are all in God’s army and we are never alone
Keep up the good fight and one day we will all be called home.
Life’s journey is not always easy nor is it always tough. Keep your eyes on Christ and this will be sure, you will reach the prize. The race we run is on a mountain trail where there are valleys and mountains we must cross, the valleys are sweet and covered with flowers and soft tall grass, the song of the birds fill the air but be on guard for the enemy is near. The mountains are tough to climb and danger lurks at every turn, one slip and you could fall to the depth below, once you crest the top the view is exhilarating and your soul flies like the eagles. Fear not for the Lord is always with you on this journey. Be not afraid for it is not your strength you depend on but God’s and His strength is always greater then the task at hand. If you find yourself wondering lost in the valley just call upon the great Pathfinder and He will lead you back. Never dwell on the bad things of this life, never lose focus on God or you might falter, life will throw you many curve balls and it is always changing but God is always constant. Just a small poem and a few thoughts.
