HEY EVERYONE, I just was curious about some of your inputs and thoughts. Now i know i asked this question in last weeks bible study, but for those of you who weren't there, or would like to comment more about this. What do YOU think God looks like? Or whatever you feel about the subject, just post it here. Thanks, PR-Timmy

As far as detail and facial features, I don't know. But seeing as we are made in His image, I would think He looks like us? Bro Jeff a.k.a. [shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300] †_FC_†™[/glow][/shadow]

What does God look like? Ultimately, I do not think there is an answer to this question that we can truly comprehend. God is a spirit (John 4:24), and so His appearance is not like anything we can describe. Exodus 33:20 tells us, “But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” We, as sinful human beings, are incapable of even seeing God in all His glory and living. His appearance is utterly unimaginable. The Bible describes God appearing to people on various occasions. These should not be understood as describing exactly what God looks like, but rather as God revealing Himself to us in a way that we can understand. Two passages that powerfully describe God’s appearance are Ezekiel 1:26-28 and Revelation 1:14-16. Ezekiel 1:26-28, “Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.” Revelation 1:14-16, “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.” So, as you can see, God’s appearance is indescribable. These passages represent Ezekiel’s and John’s best attempts at describing the glory of God that they witnessed. So, what does God look like? If I am forced to come up with a description of what God looks like, I suppose the best description of God’s appearance is an extremely bright light, the most intense, purest light imaginable. The above was found at this site.

If our bodies are dead then how do you even know that we will be in a physical form in heaven? How do you know God even has a face thats simular to ours on earth? If it's our spirit that goes to heaven wouldn't it make sense that God would be as a spirit also?

What does God look like? Ultimately, I do not think there is an answer to this question that we can truly comprehend. I don't agree with that. God Himself described Himself when He made us. It really isn't that complicated. God has a tendency to use the simple things to confound the wise. So I generally look for the simplest answer. Genesis 1:26-27 26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Anything else I need to know I will find out when I see Him face to face. Will worrying about it add one inch to my height? 1 Corinthians 13:12 12. For now we see through a glass(mirror), darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. So until the day we see Him face to face, in the simplest terms, we are walking clay statues of God according to God's own words. So if you want to know what God looks like, look in a mirror. I agree with pretty much evryones response somehow, and in some way. But CJ god doesnt have to be seen just in heaven. He was seen from the back by moses when God called Moses up the hill to speak with him. But i truly believe that like sort of what jeff said, God is all around us. When its cloudy and you see that gleeming ray of light come down between the clouds, or when you see rainbows after storms or a sunset after a hurricane, I believe that is what God Truly is. The light... in the dark. Thanks, PR-Timmy

The Father and The Holy Spirit I am not sure about... hard one that... Jesus, I have always believed (at work now so can't check - but I am sure there is a verse about this somewhere) that He will look like He did on the cross.

I cant say that I have a thought of appearance, besides Jesus, and nobody has recorded pics/photos of him. Sure would be awsome if we did!

I don't know what God looks like, and I don't really care. I do know how He acts, though, and that's what we need to show to the world by the way that we live. I think this concept is best expressed in the words of a 4Him song from a few years back: That's where it's at ... it doesn't matter what you think God looks like ... what matters is what others think God is like when they see how you live.
