I think with all of our busy lives day to day , we don't always take a moment to look at the simple pleasures in life that God gives us. OK , well maybe some do. I wanted to start a new thread we can use on a regular basis of these simple little joys of everyday. (example : someone letting you ahead in line at the store, seeing a rainbow ) please don't be shy in adding your comments what it meant to you, or how you felt. I think it would be fun, yet a reminder to all of us to enjoy the simple things of life. And yes, they please add the silly things too.
My simple joy for today :the peace and quiet of my morning with a good cup of coffee

Quiet mornings and a cup of coffee is definitely good. One of the simple joys is having a day off work, and I am able to see Jay off to work & then see the Andrew and Destinee off to school. I leave for work before they are up. You don't realize how much you miss it until you are unable to do it. Getting hugs and kisses sets you up for a great day.

One of the greatest simple joys in my life is walking into the Peacelings' rooms after they fall asleep, tucking the blankets back in around them (for some reason, they all love to kick off the covers, even on the coldest of nights : , and just watching them sleep (it's usually better than any show on cable anyway ). And the greatest reward in that joy is when one of them wakes up slightly as I tuck him or her in, reaches up for a sleepy hug and kiss , and manages to murmur softly, "I love you, Daddy." That's a feeling that the richest man on earth could never buy, a moment that could never be fully captured in a Hallmark card, a fleeting instant when all the time and the pure love that you've invested throughout the lifetime of that child pays a simple yet beautifully elegant dividend -- and for that brief moment, the line between Heaven and earth is gloriously blurred.

Eating fries with steak prepared by mother was my joy for today. She lives some distance from where I live so we don't eat togheter that often ...and coming home in one piece since my sister was driving. God bless that little Schumacher

That makes my heart feel warm and happy, Peace, as I'm happily looking forward to having a family in the future. My simple joy for today :the peace and quiet of my morning with a good cup of coffee Mine happens to be going up to a steeple at the top of town, about half-mile through country, then the steeple is surrounded below by some woodland. It's calming and peaceful to see a whole 30+ miles of sea, coastal bay with country, other towns and landscape during the day, sunset and night time - though the night give it a extra boost of historical or spiritual and sacred space about it. It's beautiful what God has given us. Though a walk I sometimes go on, sort of like a coast-line walk, is also shown here in a little Windows Live Space of mine, should be on the right side of the page, though if you click the photo image, it'll bring it up as large quality photos: MorningriseIt all makes me and others happy and fulfilled in life, if possible I'll add a piccy of the Steeple.

I hear you, brother! I couldn't have said it better or described the feeling better if I tried for days. The first coffee on a Saturday morning is also on my list of joys. Another one of my great joys is just sitting in front of a window and watching the weather. A good thunder storm or rain storm especially. I see God's power at work in the weather and His provision at work in the roof over my head. Amazing. Rich.

Waking up and then realizing you can afford to sleep for another hour is always good. I've also always enjoyed gazing up at the stars with that special someone. In case you can't tell, I'm definitely a night person...

Realizing god has made takes all of us to eternal happiness even if it may seem so to family and friends.

This is a positive thread and I would like to keep it positive.
Don't forget some of the most simple joys. Breathing, sleeping, eating, running, walking, etc.
Most if not all take for granted the basics and essentials of life. We do not always give praise to God for allowing us to be healthy.
It is only until you do not have your health that you appreciate those simple, but essential, aspects of life.
I recently had surgery on my throat and I can not even drink water without tremendous pain. But I think of those who can not even take a drink of water, those who get nourishment through a tube, those are the ones that need our prayer.
But yesterday morning when I was at the lowest point I simply had to look outside at the beautiful sunrise that God allowed me to see to appreciate His majesty.
Though I was in excruciating pain, God allowed me to see this beautiful sunrise. Which gave me hope that brighter days are coming. He will come again in Glory.
The trials and tribulations that I am presented with are so minuscule compared to what sacrifice our Lord made giving up His only Son for our salvation!
You young people who have their health don't take it for granted. Look at the birds and flowers and enjoy the most basic things. Thank God every day for what you have. Look forward to tomorrow, appreciate what you have today.
God Bless

I just found this post and just read Jeff's comment. That was beautiful. You brought tears to my eyes again, honey. Thanks. My simple joy today is that i have a husband who loves me and the kids. Can I add another one too? Okay I can't wait for an answer, so here goes. I am also grateful for 50 degree weather and no rain, so my kids can go out and play.

Glad to provide the eyewash for you, sweetie! And your second simple pleasure is almost as nice (don't forget, we're in upstate New York, so based on history, we should be under two feet of snow by now, not playing outside in the grass without jackets! -- but please don't take that as a complaint! ).
