Dude, your my new best friend, I love some of those bands!
It's amazing how something so dark as metal can be brought into the light of Christianity, it's almost a paradox if you think about it, metal normally talks about sex or drugs or violence in any kind of way, but I don't think a lot of people grasp the idea that when these artists go out of their way to say something that dark, that somewhere in that song they're going to say something good, because of their new way of life, if they can't show their faith in what they sing then how are they gonna show it in what they do and say? It'd be hypocritical of them...
But anyways I personally think that if it's Christian, it should be ok to listen to in the eyes of Christians, if it's not your favorite genre then who cares? Christian music has spread to just about every genre you can think of, I just happen to like the harder stuff a lot of times...
This is my first post here so I'm trying to be nice lol. So I hope you guys love headbanging as much as I do cuz until my body gives up on me I'm gonna be doing that for a long time...

metal normally talks about sex or drugs or violence in any kind of way That basically describes rap. I find that most none Christian Metal is almost entirely of dark and satanic subjects. So I try to only listen to Christian Metal.

I try to ONLY listen to Christian music period...
lol...
No but seriously it does say in the Bible something about exhorting one another, I might be wrong on that one...
Nope I've got the verse for it, it's Hebrews 10:25, I'll skip on down to...
; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
That to me just kinda says it all, what is exhorting in worldly music? It doesn't help me at all, I've heard songs and seen music vids that are just plain bad, and I'm thinking to myself, I probably know people who listen to this garbage every day, especially my Christian friends, it just sickens me sometimes...
Anyways, I love the new Haste the Day song, they're new album's gonna be great, I just hated seeing their guitarist leave under such circumstances, but I was actually quite impressed with how HTD handled it...
When I figured out that they were gonna redo their song American Love I just about fainted, it's gonna be so awesome!

War of Ages just had a new album come out. If you don't listen to them you should. Start with they're older stuff. Fire from the Tomb and Pride of the Wicked.

I like Anberlin a lot. Great band. Anberlin does quite a bit of posting on Shout Life, Shout Life is a site like my space but a christian site. Some of us -=Of-God=- have accounts there, check it out. ;D

I do like war of ages, they're one of those bands though that I like a few of their songs but some of 'em just aren't favorites of mine...
To put it nicely...
I think one can say that a band is truly their favorite if they like most if not all the songs done by that band, and I can name a few of those, but their are a lot of good bands that I like that just don't always do it for me...
lol well if everybody reading this would've seen how I grew up you would be shocked with all this that I'm writing down, especially for the fact that I was an introvert most of my life...
Didn't mean to get off topic there, I personally love being able to be open about stuff like this, especially with people who like this same kind of music. It makes my time on here A LOT simpler lol...

Speaking of War of Ages, I've seen the new vid, it is totally awesome dude!
I love it, as much as I might hate vids where it's just band shots or mostly band shots, this is an awesome vid. Haha, I haven't been on in a while, oops...
Well anyways, I really like the message portrayed in As I Lay Dying's song called Within Destruction, though I'm normally not good at interpreting poetic liscense, this is an easy one to get. It's one of those songs that comes out and just says the truth, how all that is hope within destruction comes from God, and thats awesome that they can say that, though they didn't say God's name directly, it does kinda hint at it though, I mean think about it, a Christian band singing a song about where hope comes from, who else could they be talking about? Haha anyways I do love that song...

I love metal. It happened two years ago when i started listening to Demon Hunter at 2 in the morning trying to finish an essay, since then i found so many good christian bands. I'm glad to see others who like August Burns Red, Underoath, Demon Hunter, and Project 86. One that i don't think has been mentioned Oh, Sleeper who which is a fantastic band. Also if you are into some heavier but slower stuff, The Famine is pretty good. And finally an underground Christian group called Zao but read the couple paragraphs of this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zao_(US_band)especially when they say "We're not selling Christ. We're just following Him.". Their lyrics aren't always overtly Christian per se, but i have yet to find anything wrong with them. They are really deep and poetic, while they scream haha. Here is an unofficial list of all christian metal. I implore you to take this with a grain of salt, as the definition of Christian can be very loose, but it's a good starting reference to do more research. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_metal_bands.
