Rushing the Hot Spots.
Assault :
There are two squads for Assault, each has their purpose and it is useless to rush opposite as it breaks up your squad, unless of course squad A or B is weaker and seems to keep getting owned.
Squad A starts to the left side of the Eastern spawn and Squad B to the right.
Squad A :
Your goal here is to rush as fast as possible to the left doorway through to the assault Courtyard once you reach this area you have two options, the ladder to your right where you can peak over you must be quick with this, usually I bring up my 203 and nade any rusher, going for the North Crashsite Building, Rushing the Blackhawk or rushing through the South Junction Buildings. You can also smoke infront of the ladder which is useful though I dont see many others do it to bring on spamfire (take cover obviously) and to distract the enemy. It works well for me. You have to be careful doing these tactics though because the Rusher coming through the Southern Junction Buildings has the drop on you with his sights up. Beware the Defensive RPG Here coming from the South Windows.
The other Option for Squad A is to rush through to the East Assault Courtyard Entrance, It is possible to immediately rush through to the bottom area where the ladder is and wait for Defense Rushers; however it is far too risky and I die more often than not so.. I never EVER enter this room until the other guys have Taken a couple out at the ladder or until a 203 has been fired inside it or if the Defense rushers haven't planted a flash inside.. Listen very carefully for any Defense Blackhawk Rushers to be coming up the ladder and stand in the first room connecting to the Courtyard Ladder Entrance, peaking out Defense will always ALWAYS throw a flash in first unless they're nuts, just be sure to fire immediately with no remorse for a teammate, cause it wont be.
Once inside the Courtyard Entrance you gotta slow down, take your time with your sights up slowly examing each opfor opening peice by peice, They have The Southern Junction opening A Large Window opposite the Blackhawk in the South Defense Room, another window to the Far South Flank of the South Defense Room and a Doorway to the Bottom South Flank of the South Defense Room. Scan them carefully and keep that trigger finger itchy cause you can guarantee they are watching.
I dont really understand why they are all reported in as South because they are West. but whatever.
If everything is clear you rush to the lower area of the East Assault room minding of course any Defense rushers hanging at the bottom of the ladder or underneathe the Assault Courtyard inside the Hovel. A flash works well but I prefer to run straight at the ladder and hold back and jump off the ladder for a quick dismount if there are opfor down there this usually happens so fast they are still aiming in the air so cap that dude
Squad B :
Squad B starts off to the Right side of the Eastern Spawn, You are rushing the doorway infront of you; there are two options here, you can go up the stairs which I recommend for the RPG man, you want to bring down your RPG and sprint to the window bring it back up and get ready to blast the Defensive courtyard window opposite the chances of opfor being out in this bombed courtyard area below with the wrecked car are slim to none so dont worry about them. The Reason for no opfor is because the Squad B team that rushes the lower bombed courtyard will rush straight through onto the courtyard where the wrecked car is much faster, once you reach this area you have two options help out the RPG man with flashes inside the Defense building or a flash into the Defensive Courtyard Patio sometimes an opfor will be camping if your rush is effective he will be at the top of the stairs to get rid of this pesky defender throw a flash to the upper level doorway inside the patio with a quick cook, it should blow up right beside his head and you are cleared for moving onto the Charred Building. and Defensive Courtyard/Pilot Area. IF you make it this far be Extremely cautious of retreating defenders hanging out in the West Buildings of the Courtyard.
Your other Option is to rush the North Bombed Courtyard and take a left into the North Crashsite Courtyard, here you can go left or right into the Crashsite building, up the stairs or through the hallway to rush up the defensive ladder into the Junction Buildings. Watch out for opfor in this area as they can also rush this equally as fast as you, though it doesnt happen AS OFTEN. If you go up the stairs watchout for South Crashsite opfor and honestly just chill around this spot moving from lower to upper, east to west inside the building, the opfor will make themselves vulernable. If your North Bombed Courtyard team gets taken out, watch the windows, because opfor will be coming up behind you. I usually scan all areas quickly, one by one, starting with lower west, then upper if I dont see anyone I either A : Rush the Southern Junction Buildings, or B : Help out my Alpha Team by flanking the Defensive Blackhawk Rushers who went inside the Hovel/Assault Courtyard Building.
with Csar, because there is two rush teams, always be wary of how your other team is doing by watching the death reports. If they get taken out you can expect a flank coming very soon. so fall back and cover your 6, while staying mindful of how your other teammates are doing. Very important on this map because you can be flanked so easily.
Defense Rush Tactics
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For Defense you rush according to what side of the map you are closer to North or South.
If you are moving South then you have a few options.
1. Rush through door to the right of the pilot room, take a left through the South Junction buildings and once you get to the South Junction Ruined Building you have a couple options; you can either:
A. Stay put and wait for opfor coming over the bridge, use the broken wall as cover:
B. Rush straight over the South Defense Roof Access using the Blackhawk wing and straight into the Assault Defense Hovel area.
C. Take a right into the South Defense Building, watch for Opfor coming through the doors:
and over the ladder, beware the tricky angles coming from the ladder area, one RPG man inside the main defense window can easily take anyone out at the ladder, just be quick. (ALSO Beware Assault Rushers coming from the North, over the North Bombed Crashsite or up the Defensive Roof Access Ladder, or across the bottom South Flank Defense Building Doorway.)
D. Rush the North Bombed Crashsite building. Beware Opfor, they reach this area just as fast as you do if Squad B Assault chooses to rush this area.
The trick to Defense I find, is to have your men split up evening over these following areas. Covering all angles is the key to defense so you may want a man doing each of these things, sometimes two men rushing the North Crashsite, or the Hovel.. it all depends on what your teammates are doing, observe where and when they turn so you know what you can get away with if you trust them. Even playing with people you dont know this is important. If you can keep assault from advancing then you are killing the clock which means a victory.
If you choose to rush the Hovel and you want to apply some pressure to assault, try flashing the Assault Courtyard Access climb up the ladder and as soon as you get to that door walk around shooting, opfor are usually peeking through the door, I have gotten so many kills like this. sometimes two flashes will work as well. NOTE : Before entering the Assault Courtyard Access, beware the opfor hanging out around the ladder, One RPG Man at the ladder = big trouble if you stick your head out in that access room.
Another option for South Defense Rushers is to head for the South Crashsite Building, to get here go straight through the South Junction Building to the Patio, next room is the Inferno and take a left here at the Deserted Building, through the Courtyard and finally to the South Crashsite Building. This area is primarly used as a lookout point for any assault rushers coming from the North or rushing the blackhawk, I rarely go over here unless it's a bit later in the round and assault has managed to breach the defense.
All in all I'd recommend for any good south defensive team, is to mix things up, make the Assault keep guessing where you will be... giving themselves away for a decent kill. and to always make sure you know where your teammates are heading.
Squad B North Defense Rush.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There isn't much to this area, you are rushing to towards the North Bombed Courtyard but you are not entering. Hold a standstill in the Defensive Patio Entrance. If you can beat the Assault RPG man to the window wait for him or anyone willing to stick there headout, you should make it there first depending on what gunslot you started in.
Another man should watch the lower door way, facing all the way over to the assault doorway, watch out for flashes coming from Assault Rushers who have allready breached the Bombed Courtyard. There isn't to much you can do other than wait for assault mistakes, try throwing a flash out the window for Assault Rushers, and pray you dont get capped.
If you are free to move out into the Courtyard always watch out for any opfor who may have rushed into the North Crashsite they will be waiting behind the broken wall, or in the upper windows of the building more often than not. You can view one of the windows with a lean out the Defensive Patio, but the others will require well placed flashes. Use your sound when entering this area to it's max. You may also choose to Rush the Assault Squad A Flank, through Squad Bs entrance. As long as the opfor isnt watching death reports this works extremely well.
This is a great map once you learn the chokepoints. More Updates and Editing coming when I find the time.
Sorry about the length. feel free to add any comments about the guide and editing I could make, I can be reached through MSN (chaotic_destiny@hotmail.com) or email that one as well...
Cheers!
