Ok all... I'm not THAT good at this map... but i've learned a few things and I'll share them here. (this is more of a fact guide instead of a tactics guide by the way) Humvee number 1 has a machine gun on top, and number two has a grenade launcher. There are three types of vehicles on Snakeplain, two of them can be destroyed by the AT4 rocket launcher and the grenade launcher on humvee #2. The tank can only be destroyed by the Javelin. There are walls on the compound that are destructible to BDM's. I have not seen these, but they were talking about them on the AA forum. Here's a quote: "Smooth" walls can be breached by BDM. 2nd 18C position has BDM instead of the AT4. Dunno why DEVs still are using AT4 Model for BDM, since they have already made one for Weapons Fam ... nevethelass it can be done. Btw, this "smooth" wall changes position every round Route to basement: If you go to the far side of the compound, there is a wooden door stuck into the side of the wall. That door goes into a little 'waiting area' with 1 or 2 enemies. Most of the time there aren't any. If you go up the ladder, and jump down immediately to the left, there is a courtyard with 5 or 6 op4. One person can clear this courtyard with effort, and two can do it easily. Once cleared, go to a broken over wall that is to the right of all those tents. If you go to the right of the little wall, there is a room that goes down into the tunnels. I have found this is much easier than going through the two story building with all of the commando's in it. Its also less demanding for fps. (i think) Once into the basement, its up to you what to do. But, that is one of hte locations for teh intel, and i think it is best for your whole team if you get that asap. Thermite: don't waste your thermite trying to kill op4. You need it at the end of the round. To set off the mortars/stingers, you have to roll it DIRECTLY onto teh obj. If it falls off it wont work. Some people have trouble with this i think... ok guys, thats all i've got. hope to see more people post on here. Strat

Snakeplain is an awesome map, been playing it since it was released. Maybe a few tips that I can share;
2 javelins ingame so it would be good to get both in the same humvee, this way only 1 humvee has to make a stop at the hills to take out the BMP and the T tank. the other tank can be taken care of with CROW, that tank only has bullet fire so you're safe in your vehicle. Tanks can also be destroyed with RPG(x2) or GrenadeLauncher(x2)
note: Javelins are aquiped at the bottom 18C and bottom 18B *note: When you use the CROW on a tank make sure you lase it before you fire.
Breach one of the main gates and drive in with your CAL and again kill all visible targets from within your vehicle. You need obj A to locate C & D. basicly A is a map that gives location of stingers(C) & mortars(D) that you need to destroy using a thermite grenade. Obj C can be found in the compound but for Obj D you need a vehicle to get there.
It's not a difficult map, if you make sure to destroy the tanks you're halfway trough your mission.

Thinking of the objectives. Team one can take the Humvee with the grenade launcher, take out the towers and go to the small back door and breach it. Little or no Resistance there. Once you get the Intel or objective A, then C and D will appear on the SAI. Team one can then take objective C while team 2, that has been hanging back with the crows Humvee, can take objective D, which moves from round to round as all of the objectives do but is always in the outlying area of the compound. (A) is Intel that reveals the location of (C)/Stinger Cache/Inside the compound and (D)/Mortar Cache/outside of the compound. The tank and the BMP's(sometimes there are 2 BMP's) can be outrun by the Humvee and don't need to be taken out unless they are in the way of objective D. Promise, Truth and I got all the objectives several times without having to take out the tank or the BMP's. And killing everyone in the compound is not an objective and will probably get you and your team killed without getting the objectives. Also, there is a lot of time on this map. If you are going around killing everyone in the compound and not getting the objectives, people that have died are waiting till they can play again in the next round. You should only take out op4 that stand between you and the objective. From the back door, there are several ways(up and down) to get to the objectives in the compound without having to wade through a ton of op4. The basement area leads to places you can't get to at ground level without going through a ton of op4. And you can walk on top of the walls and take out any op4 resistance if your objective (A or C) is in one of the towers. Team 2 can also back up Team 1 if they should fail in the compound. Team 2 should stay in the Humvee and not move from spawn(unless to avoid a mortar strike, and you don't have to move far to do that and you have plenty of time to move since you can hear them being shot way in advance) until either team one has failed to get A or until objective D is revealed. Team 2 should go for D first if A has been accomplished even if Team one failed to get C. D is easier to take but it a good distance from the compound. You may not have the time to get D if you go in to take C. You are already on the outside, take D then get C if need be. There is a type of dry mote all around the compound with land bridges at certain points. Mountains are beyond that. When you get past the mote(hopefully over a land bridge), put the Humvee in low gear till you get to D. You don't want to wreck the Humvee by going too fast and you may not handle the climb you may have to make to get to D. I owe a lot of this by observing Promise and Truth. They had this down to a science the first day. I was amazed to see how well they did as a team on this map and how many times they actually got the objectives. Try to remember that AA is a team sport after all. Bro Jeff a.k.a. [shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300] †_FC_†™[/glow][/shadow]

You have to take out all of the Enemy spotters by sniper or vehicle-mounted machine gun or they will rain down mortars on you all the while. If the 18C with Javelin drives Hummer #1, the gunner in that car should take out all visible spotters with the guns while driver is taking out the tank. Be sure to use the laser targeting (alternate-fire key), it automatically adjusts the range for point-and-shoot operation. Make sure the driver doesn't park on badly sloped ground or you'll have trouble shooting anything (at least I do). There's usually spotters up on the hills, behind the low ruin-like walls, or on top of the fort walls. The basic rule is, if mortars are still coming down, there's a spotter still alive. Once you've gotten them all the mortars will stop. If someone is on the POW slot, be nice and leave a bit of the equipment downstairs in the fort for them (ie., don't take it all). I've played POW a few times and running around with a pistol and two clips makes it difficult to be effective. Also if you hear them calling for a ride, pick 'em up. It's a long run from "Cobra Cabana" to the fort. If you decide to go in one of the front gates, use your door breacher very close to the seam on both doors and they will both blow open. More convenient for sighting further into the compound for E and there are some crazy Humvee drivers who like to actually enter the compound with guns a-blazin. <ahem> marco <ahem> I hope you don't drive like that in real life man. That's all I've got for now. Fun map!!

I've been playing SF Snake Plain every night with Promise and Truth since 2.7 came out. Last night Dave, Michael and I were completing all Objectives with in 5 minutes or better and then when Micheal left, we were still winning almost just as fast with just the 2 of us on the server.
The best way is to take out the op4 in the towers first then breach the main doors and drive the hummer right in the compound and someone in the CROW seat takes out all the guys in upper and lower building where the Intel always is. Then take out a few in the court yard while someone runs in and takes the Intel. The Intel is usually in the same building just switches from upper to lower building. Then go Thermite the Stingers. Then make sure theres no tanks or BMP's outstide the door waiting and go after D.
This Map is just sooooooo much fun!!!

I will throw in a bit of POW info. You start either in the dungeons of the fort or in the hills. Either way, you can get yourself out of the cell and the OpFor always leaves a weapon for you on the table outside your cell. If you are under the fort you can pick up a full allotment of weapons (gun, ammo, nades, breacher, thermites) from the table. These weapons should be left for the POW. If you are in the hills then you are stuck with your pistol or an AK47. You still can play an important part in the mission though. Scout out the buildings where you are being kept to see if you can find Obj D (I have never found it, but you never know) and then - the more important thing - head towards the fort scanning for OpFor. I can often pick off a couple of spotters/snipers/commandos in the hills. Always nice to get an extra weapon off them. Remember to report in when you escape so one of your team mates knows where to go to get you. For the rest of the squad. The weapons in the fort should be left for the POW unless you really need the Thermites. A POW with a pistol is not much use. Look on your SAI to find where your POW is. It is a 20 second ride in the HMMVV as opposed to a 2 minute run across the open Snake Plain. Please don't thro thermites over hand. Throw underhand so they don't bounce off a wall and land at the feet of the POW who has just arrived at Obj C. Can anyone guess that POW is my favourite slot?

lol. mine to stripes. and you should hop on the {CS} vent server whenever you come and play on our server. That would mean I would have to get my microphone sorted out and persuade my wife to watch TV with subtitles instead of sound. another thing is if you have an at4/rpg you can take out obj. C with it. Can you really!!! I did not know that. Something to try next time. I will add to what I wrote above. You do sometimes start near to Obj D. This is when I usually find OpFor lurking around the cell. I have also had a heavy machine gun waiting outside my cell as well. You can find out who is driving the HMMVW you are in by pressing the [Ctrl] key. This is useful when you want to ask the driver why he is driving away from the fort. {CS}Msg.Knight-][-, I have had fun playing on your server recently. It always seems quiet on there, but if everyone is on Vent that would explain it! If you ever need me to leave to let a {CS} member on, just let me know as I won't be offended. Rich.

well here is my two cents...the tank (T-62) can be taken out with an op4's rpg. *note-I have only done this once and I hit it directly between the turret and the hull of the tank.
like it was said obj C can be taken out with an rpg/at4, often times pumpin an rpg into a tower will inadvertently destroy the stingers (if they are a tower).
if you take the humv with the 50 cal. to pretty much any hill on the map you can just sit there and snipe practically everyone in the fort *note-i recommend this if you're playing by yourself for fun or just two people and you want to try and kill a bunch of bad guys.
what Rich was saying about being POW and trying to find obj D. It might just be me but i don't think the door to the room that contains obj D opens until the Intel is found. (again i might just be imagining it but I've run all over the map trying to find D when i was alone and could never open the doors that it was in).
with that happy fragging. ~Michael ].[Liberty

Well, as the POW, Objective D is useless because you dont have any nades. While its relatively easy points, you dont have anything to work with unless you start in the basement of the fort, but that can be tricky too. Scot
