***This is NOT a guide to this map just a few tricks I've been able to learn***
*First of all, if you don't already use iron sites you really need to on this map. Urban (like Mout) is a CQB (close quarters combat) map. However, Urban is a larger map than Mout, and thus i recommend iron sites when shooting over any distances.
*Sniping: a good sniper can dominate Urban Assault. The key's for this are first practice (it takes a long time to become a good sniper), and finding a server with a low ping. Also, if you plan on deploying your bi-pod i recommend you have a teammate cover you, as you can not quickly get up and defend yourself. Echo/Foxtrot buildings are in general people's favorite sniping locations. While (if you know what you 're doing) are good places, they only have one way out, and people 90% of the time check them for snipers. Pretty much i camp for about 30 seconds, then move on to a new building (along the way pick up either an RPK, Ak-47, M-16, or M249 SAW, to defend yourself with when you're not sniping. There really isn't any one "golden" strategy for sniping. Pretty much you need to be a good shot, at most you're going to have three shots before someone locates you.
*Avoiding/Getting out of Tricky Situations: As a general rule of thumb a decent player on Urban with the SAW will own. Unless you're a really good players (which I'm not), then don't face SAW's (or RPK's), at close range one on one, you'll probably lose . What I've learned is when you spot a SAW or RPK from far away pull up your iron sites and nail him, if he's close then run away, circle around and nade him. You don't have to duke out every fight face to face, sometimes its better to line up your sites and only use 6rds to kill someone. If you're stuck in a building throw smoke, its probably one of the most underused defenses in the game. If you're flashed pull smoke and throw it, i've been saved countless times by this. Stay out of the open during the first 15-20 seconds of the match because the nades will be raining from heaven. Think on your feet and you'll be fine
*Rifleman tips: As a rifleman, like i said before, USE YOUR IRON SITES. My personally favorite strategy (when on the Western attack), is to run strait through the first door (from spawn), go up the stairs and camp out that whole area. With some practice you'll see that you can quite easily rule the map, I've gotten some insane scores while using that strategy. I like to spam nade at the beginning of a round because I usually get a kill. Where you aim is up to you, however i recommend jumping as you throw the nade (for significantly better distance).
pretty much if you're good at Mout, you will be good at Urban. You can't rely on sound so much (due to the background noise), but your CQB skills come in mighty handy. Keep moving on urban, use your sites/nades to your advantage, and you'll do great. , I hope that this has helped.
Any questions bout the map and I can answer them.
