For those of you who love SF SnakePlain (like me!) and are able to play (unlike me ), there's a new server that you can visit and have a relatively-friendly atmosphere in: 75.126.154.135 (server name is "+HFMG+ Server Alpha"). This server is run by one of our regular server guests, "vaddagh", who is also registered here at our forum and has contributed to our clan's server fund . The server is also an AASA "public streaming" server, so it has some protection against cheaters (although that's generally not a problem as much on co-op servers anyway). SFSP players, please stop by there and show our friend some support!

You Bet!! Feel free to use the server anytime you like! I'll be glad to add an announcement in the rules for you guys regarding the respect of your clans server rules. If Of-God is on the server, we all play by their rules. Basically Me Server, You Server. Easter Blessings to you all!!

well... looks like implementing the patch wiped out all my settings and configurations... I knew I should have made a backup of those files! anyhow, server is OOC until I can find the time to re-configure it.

-- forgot to warn you about that, bro . Yep, any time you hit Clan-Solutions' good ol' "Reinstall" button, it destroys everything that you've added to your server. The only exception is if you use their "Config Editor" to modify your armyops.ini settings ... those will be saved and carried over to the new installation -- but some of the fields in that aren't quite right for 2.8.3.1 setups now . Here's hoping you can get it back up quickly ... I was hoping to visit this afternoon while I'm at my sister-in-law's house. If you need help, let me know!

Well, it's back up.... Not sure why setup this time has been so difficult.
For some reason I can't get the server to stay on the map I want. After every reboot it reverts back to SFHospital.
Don't remember having this problem before the patch was installed.

Don't remember having this problem before the patch was installed. Go to the "Command Line Changer" in your server setup area -- create a new command line for SFSP, save it, and then set it as the default command line. For some reason, Clan Solutions thinks that all of their servers should default to SF Hospital ... don't know why, since they're the only host that does that ... but that's what you need to do to fix it (and you'll have to do that every time there's a server version update like this -- I have to do the same, to get ours to default to MOUT McKenna like it's supposed to do ).

This is great news. I've been missing the old snakeplain no. 2 server for a long time now. I hope to jump on here once I get updated with the 2.8.3.1 patch... Thanks again for making your server available! It is appreciated. --Mark

I've added a couple of rules for you guys, hopefully people will respect them when Of-God members are online.
I do have another question for Peace...
I have a chat log with a few players disregarding the profanity rules.. How does one ban these people without having to be online and catching them in the act? It would be nice if I could just build a ban list from the chat logs instead of having to catch them and perform the ban while they are online.
It may not be possible, but I had to ask.
And I'd like to offer an apology to SpyGirl if she happened to witness these players behaving badly on Sunday.

Yep, it's quite possible ... it's what we do here, in fact . When you find a violation in the chat log, you can look up that name in the server PB logs (found in the server's \system\pb\svlogs\ folder); I usually grab their last "Lost Connection" line, as that will have all the necessary data on the player that would be required for a ban. To ban the player, just copy the 32-digit GUID from that line, go to the "Commands" area of your PB WebTool, and issue the "pb_sv_banguid 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef" command (replacing " 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef" with the actual GUID, of course ). This will write the ban to your server's "pbbans.dat" file, so that it will remain there permanently and be loaded every time the server is started. (Of course, when you have to reinstall ... yeah, make sure you keep a backup copy of your banned GUID's, and copy your server's "pbbans.dat" file to your computer before you click the REINSTALL button!) If you're not using the WebTool ... the easiest way to add a ban is just to add it manually to the end of the "pbbans.dat" file and restart the server. Here's the necessary format for bans in that file: [2008.03.31 12:09:30] 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef That's all that is actually needed by and used by the server for a ban, just a date/timestamp (which can be [0000.00.00 00:00:00], as long as it's there -- we generally use the "lost connection" time or the kick time, if there was a kick) and the GUID. You can also add the player's name, IP address, and reason for the ban, if you wish: 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef "RudePlayer" "00.00.00.00" "extreme profanity" However, the extra info is not necessary, and it's best not to use that format on the server itself, since the short format does the job with less bandwidth/storage space wasted. And feel free to ask more questions if you have them, Robbie ... if I don't know the answers, I can either find someone who does, or make up some that sound pretty good .

Hahaha! If you're making up answers, you must be a natural at this because you have been right on the money every time!! I have the two offenders banned now! This will make filtering out the undesirables much easier!! Thanks again Peace!!

When school isn't kicking me in the teeth, I'll give this a try. I've been looking for some good coop games where I can snipe in a target-rich environment
