For those of you who haven't seen/heard it yet, here's the new "instant classic" daddy-daughter song, as written and recorded by my favorite recording artist, Steven Curtis Chapman. Be sure to stick around after the song for SCC telling the story of how the song came to him (might want to have a hankie at hand ). I got to hear him tell the story and sing the song live in concert last month (got free tickets in exchange for working at the merchandise table -- it's good to have friends in high places ), including his new message of hope (after Maria Sue's death this spring) that for those who know the Lord, "the dance will go on" someday .

My wife bought the cd just for that song but we don't think we can watch the video.

The song is beautiful and to see SCC do it live just a few months after Maria passed away was really something special.
At the concert I didn't cry during the song but I did cry when he told about how Maria and Stevie Joy got saved a few months before the tragedy.
I did cry this time during the video, especailly the second verse because my oldest it now 11 and she's growing up so fast. Pretty soon some undeserving guy is going to come and sweep her off her feet and she'll be gone.
