While I was at my Church's Easter drama last night, I got this idea. Then while I was at Easter Sunday service this morning, I felt that I should really go ahead and do it. So here it is. I posted it on my Deviant Art journal earlier today, and I thought I should share it with you, guys.
Happy Resurrection Day everyone!
I'd like to share something with you today, and I hope you take it to heart. Because it's very important.
The Bible tells us that Jesus was crucified with two thieves. One on his right and the other on his left. (Matthew 27:38) I'd like to share with you a passage of scripture pertaining to this:
39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.(Luke 23:39-43KJV )
So you see, one of the thieves rejected Christ by ridiculing him.
But, the other rebuked the first by saying: “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” (Luke 23:40-42NLT) He accepted Jesus for who he truly was: The Son of God, and innocent man, laying down his life out of love for all of mankind. Seeing this, Jesus granted him eternal life in the paradise of Heaven.
So the question I have for you, my friend, on this resurrection sunday, is this: Do you want to be the thief on the right, who rejected Christ? Or do you want to be the thief on the left who accepted Christ for who he was, and who was granted eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven? Because, whether you believe it or not, Christ died for YOU. The choice is yours, to believe it, or not to. I suggest you think long and hard.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. I hope it affected you in a positive way. I pray you have a wonderful Easter!
Have a great day.
