I'm sure that most of you are probably already familiar with the creative genius of Mr. Phil Vischer, best known as the creator of "Veggie Tales" and as the voice of "Bob the Tomato" and many of the other memorable Veggies that we know and love ;D.
But have you checked out his latest venture yet? It's an interesting Christian Internet-based show called JellyTelly. The general target audience appears to be ages 4 to 9, although I personally found most of the programming (even the stuff that's not from Phil personally to be rather entertaining and funny for myself as well (just as with his cross-generational appeal in his Big Idea days), while still being very Biblically-based.
Vischer's goal with JellyTelly (which you can hear him tell about here) is twofold: first, to provide a viable yet solid Christian alternative to Nick/Disney shows and get kids grounded more firmly in the Word of God; and second, to provide an outlet for new writers, producers, designers, etc., of Christian children's "edutainment" to begin ministering and teaching the next generation of Christian kids.
JellyTelly has actually been around for about six months now, but I just heard of it this morning while reading Daren Streblow's blog (if you haven't heard of Daren yet either, check out some of his video clips at the main page of his site -- he's hilarious!). All of the residents of Castle Peace watched the last week's worth of daily half-hour-or-so JellyTelly shows today and really enjoyed most of it (although a few of the clips in some of the shows were a bit odd, but still worth watching). I recommend giving it a try and see it for yourself!
BTW -- my new avatar? Yeah, that's the cute little jellyfish from their logo ;D -- gotta love it!
