How Honor is won/lost
Every new player begins the game with an HonorLevel of 10, equivalent to 5,000 Experience Points (EP). Your HonorLevel will rise or fall depending on your actions in the game. Some of the things you can do to increase or decrease your HonorLevel are shown below:
Your EP will decrease when you:
* Attack friendly players (variable drop, based on severity of attack and player's health)
* Are kicked from the server for ROE violations (major drop)
* Are kicked from the server by an administrator (500 EP loss)
* Are banned from the server by an administrator (1,000 EP loss)
* Are detected using a known bug exploit or cheat (total loss of honor)
* Are killed by any other player (minor drop of "in-game" honor per kill)
Your EP will increase when you:
* Win the current mission (major bonus)
* Participate as a leader (variable bonus, based on position and win/loss status)
* Survive the mission (variable bonus, based on number of survivors/objectives; higher for leaders)
* Secure objectives (minor bonus per objective)
* Kill OpFor players (minor bonus per kill)
Points and Levels
HonorLevels increase from Experience Points (EP) earned in-game. The higher your HonorLevel (HL), the more EP it takes to gain another HL. For HL 0-9, you must earn 500 EP to get 1 HL; HL 10-19, 1000 EP; 20-29, 2500 EP; 30-39, 4000 EP; 40-49, 6000 EP; 50-59, 9000 EP; 60-69, 13000 EP; 70-79, 23000 EP; 80-89, 43000 EP; 90-99, 83000 EP. (To see this list in a handy chart format, click here.)
The highest HL obtainable is 100 and only achievable after a player has played thousands of successful games and won hundreds of thousands of EP--to be precise: 1,850,000 EP = HL 100!
The lowest HL is 0. If you drop at or below HL zero, your account will be banned. Since each Honor level is made up of many points, you may not see a change in your Honor level over the course of several sessions of play.
How the Scoring System Works
Score Formula: Earned Experience Points = Won_Honor + (Kills - Deaths) + (LeaderBonus) - ROE - Idle Kick
Where (Kills-Deaths) can never be < 0
And (LeaderBonus) can never be < 0
Win = 10 pts per objective if dead, additional 10 pts if alive
Kills = 10 pts
Death = -10 pts
Leadership = 5 pts per subordinate alive + (+10/+20 pts for win, -5/-10 pts for loss) + Majority Team Survive Bonus
Idle kick = -100 pts
ROE = -1 to -340 pts, based on the severity of the attack
ROE Kick = -500 pts in addition to the ROE points
Scoring Examples (assuming a 5-round match on MOUT McKenna, with 3 objectives):
* Player 1 participates in 5 winning rounds, kills 4 OpFor, dies 2 times, and accumulates 0 ROE
> Player 1 Earned EP = 180 + (40 - 20 = 20) - 0 = 200 points
* Player 2 participates in 5 winning rounds, kills 3 OpFor, dies 5 times, and accumulates 300 ROE
> Player 2 Earned EP = 150 + (30 - 50 = 0) - 300 = -150 points
* Player 3 participates in 5 losing rounds, kills 0 OpFor, dies 5 times, and accumulates 0 ROE
> Player 3 Earned EP = 0 + (0 - 50 = 0) - 0 = 0 points
Points are stored in the AA databases and are represented in-game by HonorLevels. To see your HonorLevel in game, press F1 to Show Scores.
Tips on maximizing honor (in order of importance)
* Accumulate no ROE
* Have your team win the round
* Stay alive
* Participate as a leader (SL or FTL)
* Have a large majority of team survive
* Play maps with lots of objective points
* Kill OPFOR
How HonorLevel affects play
Your HonorLevel affects your team role selections within the game. If you prefer a certain weapon class, then increasing your HonorLevel will increase your chances of receiving a certain weapon during play. High HonorLevel is not a guarantee as other factors play a part in weapons selection.
In the field, you can be promoted due to casualties. When a Squad Leader is killed, the Team Leader with the highest HonorLevel is promoted to take his place. When a Team Leader is promoted or killed, the team member with the highest HonorLevel is promoted to take his place.
If you start as a leader and are killed during play, you will not receive any honor bonus for leadership if your team wins, but you will receive the negative leader points if your team loses. If you are promoted during the mission, you will receive a partial bonus if your team wins (but no loss if your team loses). If you start and end the mission as a leader on the winning side, you will receive a higher bonus.
