I had no idea about the 'new' scoring system. Well, time to start following Tim around Sean EDIT**: Ok, read it over (with Jamie's help). How does being near a leader help your aim? Is it magic?

As i recall this was already effective in the previous version but only for snipers. I also noticed that when you are hit your sights move around heavier and makes it even harder to aim. Long distance shots when red are almost impossible now. Good for me cuz i use my sights a lot

How does being near a leader help your aim? Is it magic? To the right of your posture indicator (the little soldier dude in the lower right corner of the screen), there are two vertical bars; the one on the right is your "Combat Effectiveness Meter". The level of this meter is a major factor in whether or not your bullets are going to hit where you want them to hit. You can increase your CEM level by posture, by sights, and by proximity. Specifically, your CEM level is lowest when sprinting/jumping/falling, slightly higher when walking, higher when crouching, and highest when prone (and if you hit SHIFT to leave FastMode, there will be another slight increase). If you bring up your sights/scope, that also increases your CEM level. And if you're near your Squad Leader and/or FireTeam Leader, that increases your CEM level also. That's where the new benefit come in. All of these CEM benefits have always been there -- but in 2.5, they made the sights and proximity-to-leader CEM bonuses bigger than they were before.

I believe the one on the left is your stamina bar and if it's low then you cant run as fast or jump as high. I think it's something along those lines...

How does being near a leader help your aim? Is it magic? In addition to the technical side that Jeff explained, the realism the developers are going for is confidence, motivation, etc. In wars, you always try to take out the General first. Why? Its their leader, it will crush their morale. A soldier will fight a lot better with his commander along side him.

......Trouble is in AA the leader is just the bloke who was last in line for getting the SAW.... ;P ......And the only thing that increases when I get "in close proximity to any teammate" is my chances of getting even more ROE :armyguy2:  :bag:

Heheh...Leadership could be better implemented, in my opinion. MOUT McKenna, among others, seems like more of a free for all most of the time.
