The fine art of “reconnecting”
First of all, reconnecting is looked on in 1 of 2 way. The first is “ Reconnecting is bad because you are just trying to get on a winning team”. The second is “Our server rules (what ever server you may be on) says that all clan members must be on the same team”. I will discussing the second.
So, why do some servers want all clan members on the same team anyway? Well, most clans use some form of in game voice communication. Most commonly Ventrillo, Teams speak, Roger Wilco, or MSN messenger. The owner are trying to protect there players from one member of a clan being shot, then viewing over their dead body to locate the enemy, and announcing there OP-4’s position on voice chat. Ghosting. To prevent this they ask all clan members to be on the same team.
So how do you do this? You have your request in to switch but you can’t seem to get over and the server owners are badgering you to “SWITCH Teams”. The first ting you have to know is that AA will always level the team at the beginning of the round. So is the teams are 10 and 10, give it up, you will not be switched. You need to wait at least until your team has one less player than the team you want to go to, for example:
9 assault and 10 defense.
If you type the word “reconnect” into your console at anytime, AA will reconnect you with the last server you were in. So, if you were already in a server and you type it in, it reconnects you to that server. If you leave a server and don’t turn off AA and want to go back to the last server you were in, then reconnect. Now, if you reconnect in the middle of the round, chances are that you will come back into the game before the round is over and have no choice but to be put back on the team that you just left from. However, if you wait until the round ends and then reconnect, the server will level the teams for the current number of players signed in:
8 assault 10 defense
Which will assault in an auto level of:
9 assault 9 defense
Then you get to choose the team that your clan mates are on. The key is to reconnect after the round and come back in ASAP after the round has begun.
Once again, be aware. Some people and clans have a real problem with reconnecters so don’t do it there. I know of 2 servers on courtyard that have “No reconnecting” in their server rules. If there is an admin at a server, and the rules say “All clan members on the same team”, you can ask them to move you to the team with your clan mates. Most of the time players will override admin switches though and you will have to move yourself.
Well, good luck with AA and have fun building those 8, 10, and 12 man teams of all -=Of-God=- members.
HOOAH!!
