This is for some of you people who are wondering what kind of gun to use in what kind of situation.
M4A1 SOPMOD
The Special Operations Peculiar Modification to M4 Carbine is the primary weapon for all Special Forces Soldiers. This weapon is fully customizable by the player through the use of various accessories (mods) that can be added to the weapon to fit the player's individual style or to meet the demands of a particular mission. The M4 Carbine is similar to the M16A2, but it is more compact and features a collapsible stock. It weighs 7.5 pounds, fires 5.56 millimeter rounds, and has a maximum effective point target range of 500 meters and an area target of 600 meters.
This gun is issued to a Special Forces Weapon Sgt.
M16A2
The M16A2 is the standard issue gun for a riflemen of the United States Army. Lightweight, durable, and almost always dependable, the M16A2 can fire either semi-automatic (single-shot) or 3-round bursts. Becoming proficient with the M16A2 is always a plus. It is your most versitile weapon, able to hit and engage targets at long range and in close-range battle. Normally a general rule, select single-shot mode when attacking at a distance. However, when you are going to be up close and and in their face, such as in urban operations, it is usually smart to switch to burst mode.
M4A1 CARBINE
The M4A1 is a shortened variant of the M16A2 rifle, yet it packs the same ammount firepower. Ment for close-quarters combat, the M4A1 is the perfect combination of firepower and compactness. The M4A1 functions almost identically like the M16A2. The only difference is a reduction in accuracy due to the shorter barrel.
M249 SAW
The M249 SAW is a support weapon. It is innacurate when fired from a standing, unsupported stance. It is to be used while prone and with the bipod support. You can use the SAW to provide cover fire for your fire team as they advance toward the objective. With its extensive rate of fire, the M249 will help keep the enemy's head down, allowing your riflemen to get in closer before engaging. For close battle situations, a SAW gunner should crouch for increased accuracy while advancing and continue to support the riflemen in the fire team. The M249 is usually used in long bursts of fire.
M203 GRENADE LAUNCHER
The M203 is usually the normal weapon of choice for the fire team. Based on the M16A2 or M4A1, the single-shot M203 fires 40mm grenades with a devastating blast radius. Because the grenades activate during its mid-flight, the M203 is most effective at engaging medium- to long-range targets. The M203 grenade must travel 15-40 meters before it arms and can explode on its target. Seeing that the fire team's grenadier carries only 7 grenades, don't try to use them like a sniper rifle, picking off individual enemies at long range. Instead, use the grenades to suppress the enemy and focus on making them so worried, that they don't see the rest of the squad attacking/perfoming its mission. On the defense, the M203 usually is used to break up the attackers before they get in close to the building.
M24 RIFLE
The M24 is the standard issue advanced marksman rifle of the U.S. Army. The venerable M24 is a bolt action advanced marksman sniper rifle firing 7.62mm rounds. The M24 is lightweight, reliable and very accurate. Simple in design, it is known as the best advanced marksman rifle in the world.
M82 RIFLE
The Barrett M82A1 is a magazine-fed, semi-automatic advanced marksman sniper rifle. Capable of hitting individual targets and equipment at distances of over a kilometer, the M82A1 is equipped with a 10-power scope, 10-round magazine and bipod. When you really need to reach out and touch someone - or something - nothing can beat the powerful M82A1. The M82A1 packs quite a blow. Its extremely large rate of recoil means that you must reacquire the target after each shot. Because it is semi-automatic with a large round, you are prone to jamming at some point.Whitout a doubt, this is definitely a very long-range weapon. When it fires it gives off a puff of smoke, making it easier for the enemy to spot you, especially during daylight operations.
