Okay, so on Thursday night, I finally got v2.8.2 installed on my new computer, a laptop running Windows Vista 32-bit, equipped with a Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM and an nVidia GeForce 8600M GT. This should have been enough to run AA, and when I did framerate tests at max resolution in single-player mode, it worked out fine. To prepare for online stuff, I configured Zone Alarm not to mess with the connections that AA and punkbuster made, which worked out when I installed all the PB updates and ran a utility to ensure that my PB was operating as it should.
Everything's peachy, right? Well here's the weird part. Whenever I start up AA, I can see in my task manager process list that my PbA and PbB are running properly. I can see servers in my browser and I can join them as I could normally. But once I join a server, it gives me about 60 seconds of playability before I get autokicked by Punkbuster for NOT RUNNING PUNKBUSTER B.
Now keep in mind that my task manager tells me before I join that PbB is running! So I check the task manager after I get kicked and discover that PbB is no longer in my process list. Somewhere between joining the server and getting kicked, PbB shuts itself off and I can't think of anything that would fix it up. I already submitted a tech support request to Even Balance, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Has anyone had this issue before? Can you offer me a faster fix?

Is it possible that something is blocking it? I mean, it is running but is it connecting to what it needs to? Are you sure its not being blocked? On zonealarm-go to the programs and make sure all of them are on allow.
