My brother and I are gonna have an AA LAN party sometime soon, and we're hoping to play SF on a few non-SF maps. I've seen our servers run SF weapons by default, and I'm wondering if it's a server option, or if we have to do something else to it. We've done the "admin forceclass (PLAYER#)" but that's tedious to do every time. Thanks!

Technically, it's a 'modified' (okay, read 'hacked') agp_characters.u file that lets us do that on #2 and #3. I would definitely NOT run such a file in a LAN setting, because that means that it's in someone's AA game directory -- and that means that this someone (if he doesn't re-install AA afterward) will get banned by AASA for having a cheat file in his AA system folder. [NOTE: the one on our servers exists only on our servers, and in one offbeat subdirectory of an entirely different drive from where my AA game is stored (taking no chances!).]
If you're setting up the SERVER.INI file for this LAN, just put your names in as PlayerAdmins (as the LC members are on our #2 and #3 servers). This will make it easier to do a forceclass command.

Fantabulous. Can we get the rundown on playeradmins? I get that they're admins that play, but what are all the commands that they're allowed to use? All the normal admin commands with the same syntax? The AA help file is not very helpful with situations like these. Oh, and which line of the server.ini do I modify to add playeradmins?

Yep -- the only difference is that you'll see, upon entering the server, "You are a player administrator on this server", and also, all of your SAY, REPORTIN, etc., will be prefaced with Admin rather than USArmy or OpFor, no matter who sees you say it. All regular admin commands can be used; as I recall, the only limitation is that (obviously) you can still only spectate your teammates and the map camera positions (not the enemy). But you still get to play!
In your SERVER.INI file, look for "[Engine.AccessControl]", then add lines in that section for whoever will be admins. Here's the PlayerAdmin setup for our #2 server:[Engine.AccessControl] PlayerAdmin=Peace-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Act-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Armor-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Grace-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=InSearch-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Law-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Light-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Mercy-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Missionary-=Of-God=- PlayerAdmin=Praise-=Of-God=- Ooh, just remembered something -- you need to be in an authenticated environment to use this -- so if your LAN party isn't authenticating to the AA auth server, you won't be able to use this.
