Hey guys, It's been awhile since I was on your server (Critical Errors and F/r raising) but I was wondering if someone could walk me through the process of Teamspeak (Is Teamspeak the same as Ventrilo??) or Ventrilo. I am getting a headphone/mic combo this weekend and I was hoping that someone could run me through the steps of what I have to do to get on a TS server. I know I must get a Teamspeak ip for that server but I don't know how or where to enter the ip for Teamspeak. Another question: Do ALL servers have a Teamspeak ip? Sorry this is so long but I would appreciate the help and when I do get my mic and learn how to get TS or Ventrilo (if they are the same :S) working then I hope I can join your server and strategize with you guys over teamspeak and try to get to know you a little better God Bless!! There are three different communications programs currently in use by most AA teams (Roger Wilco not included -- that one has gone the way of the dinosaur): Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, and CNR (CombatNetRadio, a feature of the GoAA leased honor servers).
We use Ventrilo because it sounds great and is affordable as well (our 50-slot server costs only $19.99 a month). Our server is currently open only to -=Of-God=- Clan members and a few carefully screened and individually selected friends and allies of the -=Of-God=- Clan.
We've tried TS in the past, and I didn't particularly care for it. As for CNR -- it's very difficult to configure and next to impossible to administer (not to mention sounding terrible!). Ventrilo is the best solution, in my opinion -- and I love our Vent!

Ohh...I remember Roger Wilco from WAY back. It was a small program, but worked well for its limited capabilities.

Back two years ago, when I joined -=Of-God=-, Roger Wilco was the commo that we used; that's where I first talked with some of the "old guard" of the clan -- Soldier (the clan founder and leader at the time), Wrath, MightyHand, Knight, Legacy, and other names that most of you have never seen except on the Inactive Reserves list. Soldier used to run RW off of his computer while he played (and still no one could touch him! -- he could've been the best AA player ever had he not been drawn away to SWG).
