Right now we don't have any spam restrictions on #2 and for some maps that's fine but when it goes to SF Hospital (for instance) you kinda need them at times. Obviously this is a decision for the Jeff and the LC but I thought I'd bring it up for discussion. ;D
Personally, I wouldn't mind having spam rules on #1 either (obviously Jeff doesn't like spam too much either since he applied the no-pain setup before 2.5), but it would be a little harder to apply rules there...

I see no problem with spam on any map and here is why. Most of us that spam aren't just randomly shooting, we are shooting at a certain point. I either shoot at yellow door or blue door. I remember on Bridge back before SF people could pinpoint drop 203 nades on any spot on the map. Spots they couldn't even see yet they could hit them. We would send one guy to middle and report guys in tower, or guys on stairs and the 203's would take them out. Much like the real military where missles and artillery shoot things they don't see. Nobody can just grab a gun and start shooting down the street or 203ing on bridge and be effective. It takes practice, i used to single player bridge and practice 203's much like i single player now and practice nade throws in Mckenna. One #1 server when i spam it isn't to kill people or even hit them but to detour them from going straight to blue or gray doors and slow them down. If they continue to run in the spam fire they may die. But they do have a choice of not going that direction until i reload. Of course i will follow any decisions put forth by the LC

I think that a no 203 rule for the first 30 seconds on at least hospital would be a good idea.

Of course i will follow any decisions put forth by the LC We've had threads about this before and you pretty much outlined the spam that people (not all, but most) said they disliked the very most. I think this thread pretty well discribes the points of view on it if you care to read it: ofgod.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1120933285Basically my opinoin is it takes practice, yes. Skill, no. Anyone can practice on single play, that's easy. I've done it a lot just for fun even though I don't use the spams I know. I even figured out how to sniper spam bridge so I hit the window with the sniper way down through the fog. Anyway, we probably don't have to go over the whole thing again. Pretty much all, good, well-admined SF Hospital servers (with the exception of a few that are only on there once in awhile) have a no 203 in the first 20-30 seconds rule, which helps a lot. Since it's an easy-to-enforce rule, I'd go for it. -Paul-

I think spam is ok:PMy spam nades on Hospital..Oh man I love it!You get easy kills and yeah it takes a little skill to point out exactly where you want the nade to come. But its only my opinion:) Hooah Soldiers!

If we made a no spam rule, we might lose some of our regular server guests due to the rule which I don't think we would want that. And say there's no -=Of-God=- on the spammer's team and he starts spamming but doesn't kill anyone. How are we to know which one is spamming? I think it'd be very hard to enforce that rule. (of course I will agree to and follow any rule that is made by Jeff & Lc)

True, Tim. Like I said, on MOUT it would be hard to enforce (even though it is maybe as bad). With SF Hospital on the other hand, it's not hard at all because anyone who spams much with the 203 will make a kill. Also, we wouldn't lose anyone (except maybe Nighthawk ) because it's a common rule and I think most people prefer it anyway.

I think that spamming rules is only decent on maps with 203 spamming like Extraction and Hospital. On MOUT it is a way of life, if you are smart it is easy to avoid. I think it would be very unreasonable to put spamming rules on MOUT. I would take it on #2 because of the SF maps on there, its just there isn't as much one mout.
