it means they don't feel like they did a good job till someone complains about how horrible the new version is, and they need to rollback to the last one ;D

Yep, that was it! I love Pye's sense of humor ... he should have been called "[Dev]Wry" instead . Just an update on the quick-swap glitch: I've been given some inside information from someone who claims to be able to do it still, although I haven't been able to reproduce the exploit myself. I'm waiting to hear further from my source and from another agent that I have in the field , and I'll keep checking it out in the meantime. However, if the new quick-swap glitch really is what he says it is, then it's much harder to do it, much less advantageous to do it, and even more obvious when they do it -- so it probably won't get used much anyway.

One thing I did notice. At the mortar base furthese out, you can't thermite the objective from outside anymore, lol I also notice that the BMP doesn't just park and make it easy for H2 on a hill to take it out anymore. It constantly moves making it harder to shoot with the Mk-19 and making it even more necesary for two qualified Javeline carriers. Bro Jeff a.k.a. I love the patch. Finally got it working on Vista. Couldn't play online today though because of big storm and our schools internet isn't working. See you in game!

I'm like 99% positive they changed them. There's all kinds of new stuff in them that I havn't seen before. Better to just copy/paste your binds over.

Right ... if you just copy the full old files over, it won't work right (if at all) -- you'll lose out on some of the new stuff (like the field dressing for your injuries, and the voice commo settings). Best just to save a copy of your old user.ini elsewhere, let AA build you a new user.ini, and then copy your keybinds back to the new user.ini from the old one ... but do so judiciously ... make sure you don't overwrite the binds for the new commands.

One thing I noticed is that in 2.8.1, your CTRL key toggled SAI player info(player names appeared over icons in SAI) but when I pressed CTRL in game, a weird little status bar appeared at middle left of my screen every time I pressed it. It looks like a tower signal status bar like on a cell phone. Is that the new control for commo commands? And CTRL, is that the pust to talk key for that? SAI player info is now the ( key by default, it would seem. Also, our Snakeplain server is still crashing at the same point in game. Server 2 crashed today in round 3 or 4 of the match. Yep ... CTRL is now the voice-command key ... still not quite sure how that works, though , haven't had time to play around with it any. As for the SnakePlain crash glitch ... yep, still there ... not much we can do but just set the server to 3 rounds again and hope for the best, I guess.

I had to reconfigure my keybinds anyways becuase the key layout on my laptop is different. Besides, with the new voice recognition commo activation, a lot of my keybinds would end up being redundant. I'm going to throw in some stuff that's not covered by voice commo like calling for backup and medic without actually shouting "MEDIC!" and giving away my position.

Yep ... CTRL is now the voice-command key ... still not quite sure how that works, though , haven't had time to play around with it any. The voice system is glichy, I said "Go Matador" and it came out with "gold medal or" and also some of the commos just don't want to work...

Ooops. Can someone post an original copy of the user.ini file from the 2.8.2 version, please. I copied my key binds over the default ones and just realised that I can't do voice commands or infield dressing of wounds (possibly). Either PM me the proper keybinds or email me the .ini file to skowsa@gmail.com. Thanks.

If anyone has overwritten the user.ini file in the 2.8.2 patch, and wants to recover the original user.ini file, all you have to do is delete your user.ini file and the game will reinstall the default one for the patch. I found this information on the Americas Army support page.

The voice system is glichy, I said "Go Matador" and it came out with "gold medal or" and also some of the commos just don't want to work... That's probably because you haven't trained the software to your voice yet. After you download and install the SDK, you have to run a few "tutorial" sessions so that the computer can adapt to your voice. Once you train it, it should mess up less often.
