if you plan on enlisting in the Marines. DO NOT GET A TATOO
the current commandant of the marine corps. frowns on tattoos. and approves or rejects them personally. therefor you need a waiver. making your chances of getting in much lower.

Didn't all marines used to have a USMC eagle tattoo? Or at least most.

You're too young for a tattoo... If you really want one, find someone that has a tattoo that is 30+ years old and see how good it looks... Oh sure, it looks good now while you are young, but as you get older and your body grows (outward) the once nice looking tattoo starts to look different... (Although, my comments are made as someone who has never had a tattoo...)
Why don't you do something more productive with the money you would spend... Try going to the mall and handing out the cash (maybe in 5 dollar bills?) and say "God wants to Bless you today..."

Or for another sound alternative suggestion, you could always invest it in the clan server fund, to help us keep doing "God's work through our play" here .

Or you could just get the tattoo..but make sure that you're absolutely positive that you want it. I would say..if you're planning on getting a cross...get something small.

No, click it again, and you'll see the tattoo to which Tony was referring (not their logo).

While I recognize you weighted your initial statement in regards to the USMC with "the current Commandant..." I still have to say that sounds a LOT like FUD. That's just a Marine talking... (former, mind you, but once = always). I'd still encourage waiting. I have a few, none of them ridiculous, but none of them are spectacular either....Cat in the Hat, 4F's, The fish in the bowl (from the Cat in the Hat). Got all mine while on active duty... I'd almost also agree that it seems like most young Marines get some doofy oohrah inkjob (I know TOO many that got Eagle, Globe and Anchor tats). I was never drawn to that, but I do have a meat tag (dog tag info tatoo'ed under my armpit). Again, patience is a virtue. Tattoos are forever, mate. No need to rush. Besides, if you take your time you'll find that your taste in bands changes...my 4F's also double as a cross so I can't begrudge you that.

i was thinking about one as well, but the one i had in mind had a meaning. The meaning was, what am i getting ready to do with this arm is it good in the eyes of God. so it was this upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/14/YHWH.png it's Hebrew for the the name of God. this would be something that would always be a physical reminder to me. the question is it for superficial propose of looking good or something more. That's what you should get or not at all. Note i have not gotten it yet still milling this one over.

I have a tattoo that is fairly large on my back and says nothin' to lose on it but honestly I would not recommend getting a tattoo unless you think it over for a good long time. Mine was a thought over tattoo that I wanted to remind me everyday that I shouldn't take life for granted and live everyday like I have nothing to lose. But if you do get a tattoo they can get very expensive. I would recommend one on maybe your upper arm if you get one because it's one of the least painful spots you can get one. Also, the marines frown on tattoos but they will still take you into the ranks. Look at me, I have a tattoo from shoulder blade to shoulder blade and they are still letting me enlist. However, I will ask my recruiter today since I'm meeting with him what the marines full opinions on tattoos are. When he asked me a bunch of the questions before talking with me he did ask where my tattoo was and everything though. I'd say it probably matters more if it's visible over your uniform such as a neck tattoo. Also, before you get a tattoo think of it from a professional point-of-view as well to make sure any future employer will not be insulted/disgusted/outraged/etc. as of the tattoo. Hope I could be of some help. ;D

I did hear that there's a new MARADMIN out stating no more tattoos below the elbows.
The old standard was none above the collar or below the wrist. I had a guy in my unit that had a picture of the globe on his scalp, but he got a waiver for that since his intent was to grow hair. I bet that was funny to the DI's in bootcamp watching the globe bounce up and down as he pushed.

The Commandant of the Marine Corps has a staff that approves all tattoos. if you plan to joint the Marines. dont risk it. wait till your out.
